madbim
In the process of putting our turbo m20 back together and I'm having issues with the scrapper ring on 3 of the Pistons. It seems the scrapper ring is to fat, has anyone had this issue with goetze rings? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
0 B C
I have to ask the annoying obvious question: did you scrape out the carbon deposits with a piece of broken old ring? So the height of the ring too tall for the piston groove? Do you have a caliper to measure the height of old ring vs the new goetze ring? 0 madbim
Yep grooves are very clean, old rings fit without issue. I'm going to pick up a caliper today and report back. 0 B C
Are they fitting on the pistons you got from me?
0 madbim
Didn't have issue with the first 2, having issue with 1 of yours and 2 of mine. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
0 patsbimmer1
I was extremely hesitant to click on a thread with "goatze" in the title. Different spelling than the original but I couldn't help but think this wad a trick.
0 madbim
Rings measured alright, same with piston grooves. Maybe we go back and try to reclean them. Any recommendations on what to soak the pistons in? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
0 Jdesign
Did you try taking the wrapper off first? In all honesty I had no idea what you were talking about as I have never heard of that brand and had to do some research. Is it possible the new scrapper rings were packaged wrong or in the wrong box when they were sent to you? Can you order them in different sizes? 0 B C
Did you try taking the wrapper off [emoji16] I searched and found someone from the chevy world that received a few rogue rings in a set so its not impossible Jdesign
