Just bring a title for a bmw when you go, they can do it with just the serial number
I'll have to give that a try. I am hoping to get it installed over the weekend.

Weird. Make sure you call the parts department of a BMW dealership. If you can't get a code let me know and I can try to get it for you.

That's who I talked to. They told me they couldn't do it. Have you had to get one before?

Hey All,
I picked up a stock cassette deck for my E30 online. I have yet to get it installed, but from everything I find online I need to have a code to unlock the radio. I called the dealership and they were less than helpful. All I have is a SN (F90555980C) from a metal plate on the radio.
If anybody could provide insight on where I can hunt down a code it would be much appreciated.

I want to love it, but I can't unsee my old hooptie Saab every time I look at it. Partly because of the two tone, but mostly that rear roof-line...
I thought the exact same thing!

I can't remember the last time I used nails for anything. I have to redo my deck this year because whoever built it was a dumbass and used nails.

Yes. There was definitely a profanity laced tirade against the previous homeowner and his total ineptitude.
Anyways, here are some pics. I haven't reinforced this side yet, so excuse the nails. Hahaha

Do you have plans for that shelving/bench. Or could you snap some more pics of how its built.
I want to build something like that along my back wall.
Definitely! It was in the house when I moved in.
I do have some advice... don't use nails to build it. The previous owner used nails on it and with some weight on the other side it collapsed. I got it all put back together using screws and it's solid now.

@P_Roloff & @AlpineE30 - We should meetup this summer. I'd love to check out the cars. I just picked up an 88 Alpine White II convertible that I'll ship here from California in a couple of months. Drove it for a week while out there for work and loved it. Way more analog than my other cars.
@P_Roloff - If I remember correctly we went on a spirited C&C morning drive last summer.
That would be awesome! Let's plan it out! By the looks of it my rig will be in the toughest shape of the three. @P_Roloff and @vbhargava y'all have a clean pair of Verts.

Thank you! I’m at school at MSOE, so not really. I usually come back to Madison every couple weeks and I’ll be in Madison all summer too.
Thanks so much! Yours looks awesome too, I really like the plastic bumpers on verts.
I'm in Verona/Madison too. I think I've spotted you a couple times.

Hello everybody!
Happy 2018 to everyone. I am a new resident in Wisconsin, well less than a year, but still new.
Looking forward to meeting some new friends whilst here, also love to buy and trade good parts or help a fellow Bimmerphile out if they are in need. Just thought I would introduce myself.
OH! and to a fellow named Dan who has a very clean white E30 we were cruising down A in Kensoha county that one day, I thank you for recommending me to this site!
Eager to bring the old girl out of hibernation when all the salt is clear.
Hey 6inasrow!
Welcome!
Waiting on that warm weather to get out for a cruise!

Yeah, if you can get it cheap enough it might be worth a shot. I’ll keep an eye out for you too, if I find anything I’ll let you know.
Thanks! I appreciate it!

I would head to a junkyard and pick up some used stock molding. If you don't have a junkyard near you with the parts you need, I'd look around for people parting out verts on craigslist or local forums/facebook groups and pick some up that way. It'll definitely be cheaper than buying the new stuff, and it's gonna look better than that stick on stuff. I'd also go online and buy new clips for it too to ensure that the new stuff doesn't come flying off on the highway after a week or something.
Edit: My bad, I didn't see where you mentioned not being able to find used parts. That's tough then, if it was me I'd probably just keep hunting for used trim. I think you're probably not gonna like the way that stick on stuff comes out and I kinda doubt it'll last, $65 seems like a lot for what that is.
That's what I was concerned about too. I don't want it to come out ugly I did find similar stuff on Amazon for half the price, so I may jut pick it up and see. It may be a decent temporary fix while I look for genuine.
It's tough to hunt down used parts for verts and the guys working at junk yards are less than helpful over the phone. I called my local yard and they told me they didn't have any BMW's in that age range only for me to go out there and find 5, 1 being a vert.
