jockhater2
damn. though i call bs on 350 amps. we sell super hd alternators at work mfd by bosch that peak at 200, and theyre huge Its definitely not. Finished the build. Notice that I only lose 1 volt on heavy notes. With 5000 watts. Thats because of the alternator plus the 3 batteries. DC power, Mechman, Iraggi, OHio Generators, Michael Singer. All people who make H.O. put alternators.
jockhater2
More pictures. Cut out the cars original rear deck and made our own for the amp. Also the first picture of the wheel well is the car on blown struts. Then new struts. And then the passat springs And the above pics were my sundown Zv3s. I had them for less than 2 weeks in the car. Switched to the mayhems because they handle more RMS than the zv3s. http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii542/jockhater2/Volkswagen%20MkII%20Build/IMG_20120914_115819.jpg Look how tiny this 1k is compared to the 5k http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii542/jockhater2/Volkswagen%20MkII%20Build/IMG_20120914_115831.jpg Here is my previous 3k http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii542/jockhater2/images7.jpg
jockhater2
Here is an overview of the system. I am sorry that the camera goes out of focus a lot. Its a cannon 600d (t3i rebel). The lens is a manual one. So I have to adjust it a lot. I am not used to it either since it's not my camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wN1VC...3&feature=plcp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7xoK...4&feature=plcp

YoungCR
jeeezus dude! Nice work. Not worried about the amp getting stolen? I think it looks cool on the rear shelf though.

jockhater2
jeeezus dude! Nice work. Not worried about the amp getting stolen? I think it looks cool on the rear shelf though. It was a lot of work. I am glad I did my first big build on my winter car. Because doing a project like this ruins the car. All those runs of wire have to come through the firewall somehow. And the carpeting at to get cut up a little. And the smashing of the trunk LOL. and the cutting out of the factory rear deck. No. I am not worried about the amp getting stolen because the tint is so dark. the car looks like nothing special. like. really nothing special. and the amp is screwed down. and the rear doors down open LOL. And yeah. Its loud. But there is still potential. I have the gain on the amp at 1/4 and the amp doesn't clip until 2/3. But I can't turn it up because the box is too efficient and the subs bottom out. The box I have the 12s in is 5.5ft3 after displacement. Going to build a new box that is 4ft3 after displacement and use aeroports. That way I can actually give them the 5000. Also. I will be adding a 2nd alternator next year. Its going where the A/C used to be. It shouldn't be too hard to make it mount.
jockhater2
Pounds pretty good. I miss subs. They are nice to have. But I don't have any audio in my bmw. Don't care for it in that car. I like that car to be light and sport feeling. even though its slow. Besides. An H.O alternator for an 82 320i would be hard to fine. and mounting one from a chevy like I did with my jetta would be harder.
