Patrick
Newbie here. I have a 2014 435i and would like to get the: BMW F32 F33 F36 3D Style Carbon Fiber Front Lip Any recommendations for a shop in Southeastern WI or Northern ILthat can do the aftermarket work? patsbimmer1
Those are just held on with double sided tape usually. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are but typically if you can hang a 3m command strip you can put on a lip.
i_love_cars
If it was just splitter side gills, those are held on with tape because they are an overall smaller footprint and don't capture so much downforce. I am pretty sure a full splitter like that involves both 3M tape and drilling through the bumper shroud on the underside in order to use some screws to secure the splitter. I think a full-width splitter like that at freeway speed would rip clean off after a while with just 3M tape. The pressure of the air coming pushing down on the entire width of the lip sticking out in front would be too much for basic adhesive like that to endure. I still vote DIY, just get a 2nd set of hands to help keep the splitter aligned correctly while you secure the taped portions.
patsbimmer1
Even pulling the bumper to do the work is easy. It's usually about 6-10 screws holding it on.
