rampelsauce
Looks like you have M5 tails and LCI headlights. Looks great. Looks like we'll both be working on black '97 540i's. If you don't come out to the Gefrorenfahrt meet, I may have to swing by you on the way back to check it out.
watertown.E39.
LCI or LCL? Im unaware what they are? I thought they were the factory angel eye projectors? Hmm..please do explain so i'm knowledged and up to date

michael1972
LCI/pre LCI. Basically LCI means facelift. Im not sure what the years are for pre and post LCI for e39's. Its usually small changes in the look. Such as differnt headlights.
rampelsauce
LCI was for MY 2001. LCI updates were the angel eyes, LED tails, different kidneys, trim, ect. Headlights can be swapped easily. Tails not so easily, unless you buy the specific Hella retrofit kit that includes specially made tail lights. watertown.E39.
Soo are we saying that whoever had the car before me put the taillights in? Or would it have came stock in 97' with the m5 taillights front bumper and the angel eyes, cause from what i know the previous owner was a man in his late 50's from ohio, she's beautiful though, only 1 tiny. Tiny. Tiny spec of rust
wasnt m3
The headlights and tail lights you have are from a 2001-2003 e39, which were the face lift years. The oem angel eyes typically aren't that bright. Someone at some point swapped the lights and bumper.
watertown.E39.
Thanks! To both of you for the helpful responses. I at least have a better idea on what the car actually has on it already, soo now its just looking like i gotta get something done with this scuba tank and find an m5 replica bumper, coming up this weekend i've gotta tackle the infamous valley pan & water pump. I've been delaying it here for a little bit now, since i'll already have the intake off though ive really been considering dropping an M60 intake in, i've done some research on it & from what im getting..is the air rams are bigger and you get more torque out of the top end?..if i'm wrong in any way at all someone please step in and correct me cause i'd like to be schooled on it as much as possible about what the pro's/ con's are with doing the m60 intake swap
wasnt m3
Check out khoalty.com for the bumper. I have their mtech 2 bumper on my e46. Quality and fitment as nice as oem.
