merl
Since the car took longer to get together than previously estimated, I have not done any HPDEs yet this year. I did, however, register for Saturday and Sunday at Oktoberfast. Anyone else ?

E36M3#215
I'm going up Friday night and running the M3 Saturday and Sunday, if the weather is right I should be on my continental slicks
merl
I look forward to seeing you there !
teatoe993
I'll be there with my E30 as well. My last track day completely ate up my front brakes. I was wondering why I couldn't go as deep as before into turn 5. But with a fresh set of pads, my goal is to get a sub 3:00 lap time. Hope the weather cooperates. E36M3#215
What's your setup on your e30
merl
So, I am running the 750i/540i brake setup ... I run the same front pads as a e36 M3 and the same rear as a e34 540i so I have a fair share of options Any recommendations for track pads ... I would prefer something I could drive to the track on. teatoe993
I've been using Hawk HP+ in the front. I've read that they make a lot of noise out on the street but I really have not experienced much of that at all. Just a random squeak here and there. Maybe it's because I bedded them in properly according to the instructions on the box, which can be a huge pain in the ass. They do make for lots of dust. But I find them very useable on the street except when they are cold in rainy conditions. And they make an amazing difference on track. I'll be putting a set in the rear too. Looking forward to seeing how much of a difference that makes.
merl
Thank you I should have explained a bit more ... I want to drive to the track on them but will change them out for daily driving. I am using a set of track wheels too so I don't care about dust. Boris3
Be careful with the hp+. When they fall off they tend to do so dramatically. In the future think about a dedicated track pad like the PFC 08 or Hawk HT 10. Big step up in initial braking bite, resistance to fade, and ability to modulate over the hp+. I've been using the PFC compounds for a while now, first the 06 and now the 08. More expensive but wear well.
B C
So it is possible to have good cold bite AND good modulation?!? This is great news!
E36M3#215
I run hawk ht-10 front and rear with brembo cross drilled rotors love it to death never fades never warps
merl
Great stuff ... thanks guys. I don't think the hp+ is what I am looking for from what I have read and what Boris has reinforced. Thanks again for the information and I will let you know which way I go.
