The seller re-wrote the ad based on what was said here on the forum:

My previous comment about the car being a "deferred maintenance nightmare" was inappropriate, I apologized to the seller for that.  That came out because I consider the water pump/thermostat, coil packs and oil filter housing gasket on N52's to be "maintenance" and not "repairs" since pretty much ALL of them will need to be done at some point.  Whoever buys this car will have those to look forward to, more than likely sooner rather than later.  Just because those haven't been done, doesn't mean it's a bad car or that the seller wasn't properly maintaining it.

He still didnt take our advice and lower the price. Dont think his FS ad is going to matter is he is still asking 9 or 10k. He should be asking 8500 and take anything above 7k

So a co-worker and good friend of mine is having a tough time trying to sell his bmw that he's owned for a couple of years now. He has had very little interest in it so far and feels that his price is pretty fair but is not really sure and is wondering that maybe its just a tough time of year for selling that particular car. I'm just trying to seek out some advice/opinions on what you guys think of the car or what you know about that particular model and year already that may be a reason for why its not particularly selling as fast as he was hoping.

Just from my own personal experience, this car is super clean and he is the type of guy that is nit picky about all the little things and takes very good care of what he owns. He has had zero trouble with the car as a whole throughout his ownership and the car has proved to be very reliable for him.

Considering kbb is mid/upper 8s and people usually pay under Kelly's blue book for a vehicle that isnt special aka M car or such. Also this being only 2wd and can pick these up at dealer auctions for 6k with close to same mileage I'd say that's your issue.

I was looking at the RR600s today, great option for the money. Same price as VVT Stage 2 though. PURE Turbos offer upgraded twins with stock-sized inlet snouts, meaning I could re-use my inlets instead of having to buy new ones. That'd be cool.

Motiv makes an awesome single kit, but very expensive. I was thinking of piecing my own together with some parts from the JPWorks kit. I've heard good and bad things, but right now it's just a pipe dream anyways. No funds. I'll run these stockers until they blow.

Stay away from VVT. Have installed 2 sets that took a crap within 5k miles. I think hexon and pure are on the same level, so why not save some money going with hexon. If going single you either pay up or don't do it at all. There is a reason the good single kits cost as much as they do. You can find a used VM kit for about $5-6k.

This. That douchey, high-horsed response is exactly what would drive me to never give someone my business.

It's not high horse at all. I actually offered to help as I knew more then likely what the issue was which I posted up before. I am stating a fact which you can think as you please. This was not ment to be a bad statement but a true statement that's is all. I know John Moliter personally so it wasn't an attack against him. No worries on getting more business, that's one part I don't have a problem in.
