If I didn't have the m3 right now Id drive down ans swoop it up.Subframe completely junk, salvage title and a none running engine in pieces.....seems like a easy pass for me.

The seller re-wrote the ad based on what was said here on the forum:

My previous comment about the car being a "deferred maintenance nightmare" was inappropriate, I apologized to the seller for that. That came out because I consider the water pump/thermostat, coil packs and oil filter housing gasket on N52's to be "maintenance" and not "repairs" since pretty much ALL of them will need to be done at some point. Whoever buys this car will have those to look forward to, more than likely sooner rather than later. Just because those haven't been done, doesn't mean it's a bad car or that the seller wasn't properly maintaining it.
He still didnt take our advice and lower the price. Dont think his FS ad is going to matter is he is still asking 9 or 10k. He should be asking 8500 and take anything above 7k

So a co-worker and good friend of mine is having a tough time trying to sell his bmw that he's owned for a couple of years now. He has had very little interest in it so far and feels that his price is pretty fair but is not really sure and is wondering that maybe its just a tough time of year for selling that particular car. I'm just trying to seek out some advice/opinions on what you guys think of the car or what you know about that particular model and year already that may be a reason for why its not particularly selling as fast as he was hoping.
Just from my own personal experience, this car is super clean and he is the type of guy that is nit picky about all the little things and takes very good care of what he owns. He has had zero trouble with the car as a whole throughout his ownership and the car has proved to be very reliable for him.

Considering kbb is mid/upper 8s and people usually pay under Kelly's blue book for a vehicle that isnt special aka M car or such. Also this being only 2wd and can pick these up at dealer auctions for 6k with close to same mileage I'd say that's your issue.

Considering your xi and the subframe needs to be dropped unless someone local has access to a lift and engine support of say your better off going to a shop.
-
4-6hrs for valve covet gasket. 3.5-4.5hrs for oil filter housing. Low end of the scale being bmw warranty labor hours.

what app or site is everyone using for Craigslist searching ? site I usually used for a broader search got deleted.

Nice

I have a place here in IL. He comes and picks them up from the shop. Has done all of our head work and is the guy that the local bmw dealers use as well. Anything wrong with it?

Thanks for posting this up Chris. If anyone has any questions, ask.
There's a reason for that, if you take care of them they never degrade to shitbox status. I can't say my E55 AMG was a clear upgrade honestly.
What's your thoughts on a e55 amg? Have been eyeing them up lately. Problems? Rust issues? Etc.

I got it all. We're are you located?

Something cool finally pops up in WI shweet. Please tell me this is going in a clean plastic bumpered car and not diving boards.

Max psi sage 1 kit with e85 550ish whp. Anything above that need a built motor. Now if that would fit in a e30 chassis with s54 I have no idea. Would most likely have to be all custom.

I was looking at the RR600s today, great option for the money. Same price as VVT Stage 2 though. PURE Turbos offer upgraded twins with stock-sized inlet snouts, meaning I could re-use my inlets instead of having to buy new ones. That'd be cool.
Motiv makes an awesome single kit, but very expensive. I was thinking of piecing my own together with some parts from the JPWorks kit. I've heard good and bad things, but right now it's just a pipe dream anyways. No funds. I'll run these stockers until they blow.
Stay away from VVT. Have installed 2 sets that took a crap within 5k miles. I think hexon and pure are on the same level, so why not save some money going with hexon. If going single you either pay up or don't do it at all. There is a reason the good single kits cost as much as they do. You can find a used VM kit for about $5-6k.
-
Hexon rr600 are a great DD option or the 700s if you want to go big HP with PI. Eitherway I think for the money hexon is the way to go. Otherwise if going single look for a used Motiv or VM kit. The fftec and jpworks kits just aren't that great as far as craftsman ship goes.

Do you have a catch can? Pending how many miles you have put on since 2014 it's very possible that's all new build up.

Yea, I think that's where I'd run into my biggest problem as I've never coded anything before.
You need either inpa or ista/d and a KCAN cable to code them. Send you a pm.
-
Don't forget, you need to code them to the vehicle after replacment.

This. That douchey, high-horsed response is exactly what would drive me to never give someone my business.
It's not high horse at all. I actually offered to help as I knew more then likely what the issue was which I posted up before. I am stating a fact which you can think as you please. This was not ment to be a bad statement but a true statement that's is all. I know John Moliter personally so it wasn't an attack against him. No worries on getting more business, that's one part I don't have a problem in.
