  1. This is the first time I have ever owned a BMW let alone a project car. I've always wanted a car to fix up and build for a long time but never thought I'd find one or have the money to buy it. Well I was surly wrong. This is my car... 1991 e30 318is the following morning after I brought her home from Indiana....February 20, 2017 The car was bone stock with 117000 miles on the odometer. It wasn't running at the time so I had to bring her home on a car hauler. The next morning It didn't take me long to figure out why the car wouldn't start. When I opened the hood I saw this random looking hose laying on top of the engine, found out it was the ccv hose and the engine wouldn't start cause it was just sucking in vacuum, So I reinstalled it, hopped in and she came to life, Ya you could say the previous owner wasn't very mechanical. Ever sense I've done a fair share of overdue maintenance items and a few upgrades. Upgrades include: BC racing coilovers: The Original shocks and springs were in really rough shape at the time. The first week I drove the car I couldn't believe how bouncy it was and it drove me nuts, I knew it was time for some new shocks and springs if I was gonna drive this car. I really liked the lowered look (not super slammed though, that ain't my thing), so coilovers were ordered the following week. An angle grinder and wire wheel does wonders... s Thought sense I had everything off I might as well put some primer and a nice coat of paint on it all. Got my buddy to make me a custom skid plate, pretty happy with how it turned out. I can definitely say I was very pleased with the change in looks Not to long after I got my hands on a medium case 4.10 LSD differential small case 4.10 open diff on top.....the one to replace it on the bottom And that's about it....ya, not a whole lot but it was enough to have a little fun and made the car a little more drivable. After that I hadn't really planned on doing much more to the car tell the following winter. It was almost summer time and I was in the middle of transitioning over to a new job, right about this time my sister ended up totaling her car in a accident. So I ended up borrowing her my daily driver car for the time being while she searched for another car (she still currently has it as of now but it looks like ill be getting it back around when school starts). So my BMW became my DD, It was a good time, and I liked it because I got to drive it everyday and it gave me the chance to get all the bugs out of her. And then this happened... I was over at my grandpa's one night and my aunt was just leaving to head home. Well, she had her car parked in the garage and I had the car parked outside, but it was parked on the other side cause I new she would be leaving. As she was leaving she decided to come out of the garage at an angle and didn't see the car as she was backing up and slammed right into the passenger door. The following day I took the car to an auto body shop guy that I had do work on cars of mine in the past. He took a good look at the car all around and said that he can fix the door without replacing it and match the paint but he said that he wasn't sure how it was gonna turn out because of the condition of the paint on the car all around, I had to agree with him, it was pretty worn out. So I made the hard decision to have the whole car repainted at the same time as fixing the door. I will keep you up to date on that as it will be going in this coming week. As some of you may know I just recently purchased a motor from a guy in the valley. The motor is a s52 from a 1997 BMW M3. So far I have done nothing to the motor besides the removal of one spark plug. Work is gonna keep me pretty busy through this week but I got plans for next weekend to get a little work done to the motor and get some parts ordered.
