FalluccaE30
Hello, Has anyone used the active autowerke header on their e46 325i? Are there any other brands you would recommend? http://store.activeautowerke.com/products/active-autowerke-bmw-325i-330i-sport-header Thanks Nick
0 jc43089
Not sure about gains but they look much better than OE, the pics of OE look very restrictive. I am using obd2 manifolds on my m50 because they are tubular stainless rather than the cast but I don't know if the bolt pattern is the same on my m54 heads? If x52 manifolds bolt onto the head you would need custom downpipes made though.
0 FalluccaE30
I see, Thanks. I get all my work done at Kummrow, so I'll talk to them and see if I would need any other parts to go with it.
0 wasnt m3
Probably need to do a secondary air pump delete right away. It's going to be a pricey job if you're paying someone else to do it. Honestly, with what you'd spend doing this you could just sell and buy a 330. It'd be way more of an upgrade. 0 FalluccaE30
Yeah...I hear you. I'm going to buy a e46 m3 when I move into a house with a bigger garage. Also, if I upgrade the current car, my wife doesn't care. If I came home with a new car...I would be on the couch for a long long time. Its a tough call because I have a lot into my 325 and when it was my DD I was rear ended and now the value is pretty low. That's why I only track it now. 0 wasnt m3
If you must keep the car, you could always swap in a 330 engine. Cost would be less than the headers.
0 FalluccaE30
That's an interesting thought. Where would I look to find one? What else would have to swap out to make it compatible? How much more would an M3 engine be?
0 Earl
An s54 swap would be much more involved and not worth it
0 FalluccaE30
If I did end up swapping the engine, could I put the 02 325 engine in my 91 318i?
0 Earl
You "could". It would be a pain since it is OBD2 and has some fun electrical components
0 wasnt m3
Here's a link to a 325 to 330 swap thread.http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=938967
