Here is my new 97 M3 project thread.
First step: Replace radiator which blew immediately after buying it and driving it away.
-
I may have to sell this thing to pay for the M3 I am buying tomorrow!
-
I love the wet look.
-
I'm not very good at paint.
-
And the award goes to!
-
Looks like we are gonna have to make a gnarly BMW injury thread with an award of a blue red and purple heart award each year for the most gnarly.!

I'm digging the bottle caps. They look much better dipped though.
-
Next thing is to install the entire new front end kit including control arms, sway links, inner and outer tie rod ends. Then its the rear trailing arm bushings.
-
shipping is another thing to watch for. I had one company ship me a fender that got damaged due to their shotty shipping. When they sent the replacement, it was damaged as well!
-
That packer flag makes me flacid. I was at that packer viking game in minnesota.

How do you get this figure? I think a poll is in order!

I have been busy this weekend.

Its a terrable mess when you crack that thing open! Look at the power wire! You would think it would cause interference due to EMI but whatever. I don't have alternator whine!
-
Don't these make my car look like total shit?
UUGH revolting!
You better steer clear. J/K I think they are very BMW and if they are on anything else it is incorrect. Depo are the best for the money Glass lenses and what not. They have options for projector or HID. Up to how much you want to spend. The plastic is pretty brittle though so you will have to be careful when installing.

I went to replace the post cat o2 when I discovered the o2 heated circuit power wire was cooked! Must have shorted on the chassis and just cooked itself.
I followed it up all the way to the rats nest in the harness on the firewall!
It was cooked like this all the way up to the little power wire junction crimp in the wire trough.
I cut a nice long o2 sensor off of one of my other spare wire harnesses. It worked out pretty well so far. All in all it didn't really take that long and It wasn't really that hard. You just need a multimeter to find the wires because they cannot be removed from the rubber passage that brings the wires from under the intake up to the firewall trough.

I was replacing the thermostat when I realized the clutch fan blades and clutch were shot. There was a crack in the shroud but not all the way through so I left it. I replaced the broken fan with a new fan clutch and fan that I had and it was fine until this happened:
You just can't have anything nice. I think what happened was that the shroud gave way where that crack is allowing the fan blades to interfere. Now I removed it and need to figure out a nice way to wire up the a/c fan to a temp switch of some sort.
