MY BAD. I ordered the OEM M3 non sprung hub clutch with a single mass flywheel... I ain't down with chattering so I returned it... Now I am waiting on this...
That dere is the E39 M5 Clutch and pressure plate. Looks like i am building it right. Probably wont even start.... anyway I spent way more than I planned but oh well whats money when it comes to your BMW!
Exactly.

I did exactly that=) haha I know the game
Good deal, don't mind me, just sharing lessons learned the hard way...

"I just need to cut them down at work and run a die on the threads to clean them up."
Run the die on first, then cut them off, and turn the die back off. Easier than trying to get it started on the cut threads.

Congrats, looks like a fun ride. Fuel sender issue is probably one of them has an open spot in the potentiometer. When the gauge drops to E pull the plugs off of both senders and check across with an ohmmeter. One will probably show open. I believe the senders are wired in series so one being open opens the whole loop.

This dude made mincemeat out of the stripped inverted torx bellhousing bolt on my trans. It was the top bolt so i had to pull the engine + trans from the car to get to it but if its in your parts car you could sawzall an access panel through the driveshaft tunnel (or maybe from the shift lever area) and work at it from the comfort of your drivers seat.
Simply find the best fit, smack it on with a hammer, remove it with ease with a ratchet. Took a whole 30 seconds vs. 10000 seconds of being angry without it.
I second that, I have a set of these and they have made quick work of some very round bolts

Also doing this today, what did you use for replacements? I use m3 oem ones, more rubber for less flex and longer life. Air chisel works good to get them out too.

Update, just to further clarify. Head is on and car is running like a champ. M50 cams and trays are slightly different than m52 but the profile is the same. The later cams are fatter for less vibration or something like that. And the trays have material removed to accommodate the thicker cams. Long story short, run an early head and get an extra temp sender port.

I tried to flag him down and then went searching around town for him but could not find him again. The store needs to sell some sort of WIBimmers business card launcher for situations like this.
Found him, he lives 4 houses down on my street. Pvegas is the new bimmer central!
Edit: 100th post, woohoo!

Nice find, the guy didn't know what was in the engine? Also what's the purpose of the grooves above the rings on the pistons?
-
Heads on m50/m52 are the same besides having an extra port drilled and tapped for the coolant temp sensors. Cams and trays for m50 are different than m52 I think this is why different part numbers, they have the same profile but the m52 cams are thicker and will not fit in early trays.

So this not a dual mass flywheel I assume? What is the weight on it compared to stock?

Just ordered 2, I am ok waiting for 40, more profit would be better to get more things in the store like the business cards etc. Order your shirts fellas!

Stability control and abs are required by the government, as are black boxes etc. Makes me love my obd1 that much more, just enough electronic control to get the job done but not too much to complicate things.
-
Will the business cards and stickers be added to the store? Also found a glitch, if you add a shirt for 15$ then add the second for 13.50$, you can delete the first one and add another and they are both showing 13.50$ for a total of 27$ rather than 28.50$

I think I the newest BMW I would buy is an e39. I do not want one that has stuff that only the dealer has access to.

Only one is my '94 325i. Bought it at 188k in spring '08, rebuilt engine at 192k summer of 08, now at 236k. Plan to own this car forever.

Thread Jack! Mineral point, Nice! you are only about 20 mins from me in pvegas, we will have to meet up sometime.
-
Added, I'm all alone in Pvegas.

While we are on the subject of stank, I did you one better, nailed a skunk on the way to work today. I think I might have to go with 50 pine trees off the mirror.

Oh, I am still using stock tune. Is the UUC one worse than others? I think a bigger issue is the super smart folks replacing the harmonic balancer with a under drive pulley. I'm sure the flywheel is important but the harmonic balancer is what keeps the crank in one piece.
-
Go for it.
Just steer clear of the blue flywheel of death
dat shit cray.
Are you referring to the UUC one? Whats the stinky on that? Just curious as I have had one for a few years with no troubles.
Also the mixture of redline fluids is excellent, I have no gear rattle after putting that in with (e34 M5 clutch)

Make sure you leave it in gear, then you can turn the output flange to get the splines to mesh.
