My M52 MAF  has part number 13621703275

RealOEM shows this part number for a 323i (M52), 328i (M52), and M3 (S52).

The part number for an M50tu MAF  is 13621747155

Since I will be running OBD1, I am still trying to determine whether I can run an M52 MAF or whether I need an M50 MAF.

I wont settle for something that works but is a little different, like using an M30 VAFM on an M20.

I am hoping the Bentley manual has some voltage curves that I can compare

..... update

The Bentley only lists what pins should have voltage/be grounded. No voltage output curve.

The M50TU and M52 are hot film meters whereas the M50NV is a hot wire.

I will keep looking for differences and information but I will probably end up running this M52/S52 sensor out of curiosity.
