  1. I installed MHD Flasher and just got my first log done.  I'm really happy with the way the log looks and feel pretty comfortable with it. The difference between the MHD and Procede isn't quite night and day but the MHD feels a bit smoother and my logs look better.  For some reason my AFR's never sunk below 13-12.5 with Procede but with MHD I am under 12 in higher RPM's.  Not sure how to explain that because Snap and I just logged on his Father in Laws 335i with my old Procede and we were hitting much safer AFR's.  Either way, I feel a lot better with this set up and look forward to adding more power.

Have you thought of getting a pro tune from PTF, Wedge, etc.? I think you and the car would be happier since you've got some pretty serious timing corrections in that log

  2. it's pretty entertaining. I got into it with my brother-in-law's friend maybe 1.5 years ago and he was telling me there's no way that a BMW on a stock turbo can hit a peak target of 20-22 psi and make 450 wheel. He was quite belligerent when he told me i'm stupid and don't know how turbos work when I told him the n5x doesn't have a BOV, either. Still incredulous when I did him the service of explaining the concept of a diverting enclosed return system.

These cars can make high peak numbers but a cheap Z06 with light mods will still crush an N54 until you upgrade the turbos. They really become a bottleneck, but damned if that torque down low doesn't rip your fucking face off, LOL. I stopped revving my car past 5500 a long time ago (save for the track where RPM position after shifting actually matters). On the street it just feels so much better to row gears from 2500-5500 rpms. January can't come soon enough. I just hope there isn't a long wait list at that point for the Pure Stage 2 kit.

Haha, that's great. I tried not to get into with people as most people are just too close minded to think a non-M BMW can make that kind of power.

  3. I'm pretty sure my buddy had texted me about seeing your car at LMT's dyno day.  He had the black procharged Mustang.  I keep telling him the kinds of numbers our cars can put down with simple bolt-on's... and then he saw your car out dyno him lol.

Probably me, I definitely remember seeing a black 06-10 pro charged mustang a few cars before mine. There was another 335i two cars after mine that put down 450whp in 3rd gear on a wedge E60 tune. For some reason it kept kicking down from 4th. It probably would've been closer to 460 in 4th gear.

But yeah, none of my buddies believed me when I'd say my car made 380ish awhp, and now we know it makes even more.  And I don't even have an upgraded LPFP for more E85 or downpipes or a FMIC. To gain 130whp from a tune is incredible.

  4. dyno is about gains from stock-to-wherever you are currently modded, not top numbers. Mustang dynos aren't inaccurate at all, assuming you compare apples to apples and always use the same dyno for the same car whenever you want to see a change in power from a mod as a percentage.

Any dyno, including a heartbreak (mustang) dyno, can be fabricated to produce large numbers but they are still going to all be relative if you ran the same car bone stock on the same dyno with the same configuration. I could have a dynojet show my car making 600 hp but that doesn't mean anything in isolation.

now are you coming to some god damn cars and coffee or not?!

Accurate isn't the word I should've used. I know the point is to see the gains, otherwise the numbers are more or less relative, like you said. I meant many people consider the dynojet numbers to be the "norm". People always say "250whp on a mustang dyno" blah blah blah, just because they historically read low. I'm know you know this.. just rephrasing what I actually meant.

Now, C&C, is this in lake mills?

  5. Yep, I'm planning on going Saturday

I know they have a dynojet, so they're usually considered pretty accurate, not a heartbreaker like a mustang dyno.

I was planning on heading there after work today, but I need new spark plugs, as it just started  misfiring above 18psi, I ordered some from amazon on Tuesday, they said guaranteed delivery by Thursday, and they somehow arrived in Des Moines, Iowa this morning (mind you they shipped from the new amazon Kenosha facility). So I likely won't be getting them until tomorrow. I'm trying to find a store around here that carries the NGK 5992 or Bosch ZGR6STE2 and so far, no luck..

  6. Hrm.  Maybe it was.  My memory said black but I could be wrong.  Did you play with me?

Don't think so, I try not to mess with anyone since it's always flooded with police. I did see a black LCI 335i xdrive there last summer, I talked to the guy, I think he said he had just got the car.

  7. Takes all kinds I suppose.  I did see a 335 down there last summer and it didn't look like daddy's car.

Sparkling graphite 335? May have been me. I went down a few times last summer to watch the ricers get pulled over.
