  1. that was me!  went to waukesha to buy roof rack stuff from craigslist. the guy told me to go the waukesha goodwill and never showed up because he really meant the Pewaukee one and thats where he was waiting.

Well thats shitty! I was test driving a customers car and saw you at the intersection and just about snapped my neck making the left there when I saw your car. I loves me a good wagon!

  2. Gotta fix a stripped lug bolt first, then I gotta get my black wheels on (no way I'm running on my snow tires, waste of money)

Make it happen!  I'm doing my M50 manifold, valve cover gasket and new plugs on Friday to get ready.  If you want to meet up just let me know!

  3. I'm heading to Union Grove next Sunday April 8 for the opening weekend. It's $15 to run all you can.

I'll be heading down with my brother in law in his A6 2.7t and we're just looking for others to caravan with. We've gone to this before and it's always a great way to kill a Sunday! It starts at noon so we would leave either Mukwonago or Muskego area about 11 and down from there.

Let me know if anyones interested!

  4. If money isn't a concern then i'd definitely do a trial. I have been a member for about 6 years and just got my fiance signed up as well. The amount of space and free weights alone make it worth it. Ive been to snap and anytime and it just doesnt get the job done for me.

  5. ^How is that gym? I'm thinking about getting a membership there, not far from my house.

I love it but it is fucking expensive. It's worth it to me because of the amount of equipment they have, the indoor track and it's 24hrs. Overall it is a nice facility but you pay for that. I'd recommend you get a trial and go from there because once you sign the contract you're stuck.

  6. This looks fun, I think I'll play.

At 16 my parents gave me a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2wd.  I beat the living snot out of this thing!  Learned how to do brakestands in it which also taught me how to do U-Joints and driveshafts.  I could fit 4 passengers plus all of our BMX bikes in and on the Jeep.

Sold the Jeep to purchase my great grandmothers 1994 Toyota Corolla with 34xxx miles on it so I could commute to UTI in Illinois everyday.  I put the largest can I could find on the end of it and called it a day.  I hated this vehicle with a passion but it got me to and from school everyday and I put over 80k miles on it in a lil over 2 years and it never failed me....

Until the day I picked up my 1995 325is and my corolla put a rod through the block.  Talk about timing!

I overpaid like nobodys business for the 1995 325is because I was young and dumb and I wanted a BMW.  No mods only maintenance and I sold it for $800 with almost 200k miles and still running strong.

Shortly after I bought the corolla I picked up a 1993 240sx rust free from Texas.  Head gasket blew so I decided this was the perfect time to swap out the KA with 150xxx miles for an s14 KA with around 60k and a turbo build started.  This simple little summer project ended up going on for almost 6 years, being transfered to 7 different garages and I finally had to sell her last summer.

That brings me to my current 1997 328i 5spd.  I found it on the cab ride home after going out on Water st. the night before Thanksgiving, talked to him on Thanksgiving, picked it up that Friday and had the alternator die on the way home.  The "new" one he advertised was too small because the car was wired for the car phone.  Then in January my fan deleted itself on hwy 100.  This meant a TMS aluminum radiator went in and upgraded water pump.  She's a work in progress but she brings a smile to my face every day.

Not the longest list on here but every car had a purpose at a certain point in my life and brought some great memories along with.

  7. I'm a little late to this party but that was a gorgeous touring! Loved the LS video! One of the LS guy's works for me and I've gotten to see a couple of those cars up close and man is that a great crew to be associated with!

  8. I have a viscous coupling and fan blade from my E30. I am not sure if they are a direct fit for an E36 but I am just throwing that out there in case it does fit and you need them in a pinch.

and FYI quite a lot of E30/E36 guys run without a fan at all with no problem. So if you can at least just get the water pump situated then you should certainly be in good shape to get around,

Best of luck with the replacement and dont forget to bleed the system!

Thanks man I appreciate the offer! I'm just going to run with no fan for now and water wetter in the coolant for some extra protection. Unfortunately like most E36 guys this ain't my first rodeo into the cooling system and I learned the hard way that there is a very SPECIFIC way to bleed the system on an E36. Appreciate the reminder though.

  9. I know it sucks, but it was a amusing to read, if that's any consolation.

Yea, I couldn't help but laugh as I'm sitting in an O'reilly's parking lot picking out pieces of my fan so they wouldn't rub on the belt so that I could limp her home. I was planning on doing the fan delete eventually but just not this soon. Like they say, if it's got tits or a motor it'll give ya problems.

  10. Well not your typical fan delete mod tonight. My car decided to initiate it's own self delete on hwy 100 tonight on my way home from work. By some miracle nothing was destroyed. I believe the fan exploded as a result of my water pump self detonating as well. So here begins my fan delete/ water pump replacement so I can work tomorrow!
