Love the interior! Those recaros look awesome. If I were you I'd keep the 325i as a daily driver if you have room for it, nothing beats classic bimmer for DD'ing.

badass!

sounds great, but what kind of time frame? can you use a router for sheets of steel?
I think its supposed to be here and setup within the next two weeks, so mid-december. Yes it would be able to route sheets of steel, just gotta double check on thickness like I said.

Welcome! You added me on facebook, nice to see ya on the forums. Also happy that the madison crowd is growing, we're spreading around the state!!

My dad sells large laser/router/knife cutting systems for various industrial purposes. They should be getting their demo machine in soon which would be able to route anything in metal, the laser cutter won't be coming for a while though. I think he told me it can do up to 1/4"? Maybe 1/2? And I'm sure you could get it done for free too minus material costs of course.

mmmm M-Systems! doesn't look like a bad deal, that 635csi parts car is tempting too

Welcome to the forum! Blaine0002 lives up in your part of the state, send him a PM.

Thanks for doing this! I was gonna start one myself but never got around to it.

Of all places I would think that Madison would have emissions..
Madison has enough prius's to make up for it

Unfortunately he will have to reregister. I had user registration moderation turned on to keep spammers from getting in the last week. I was getting so many requests that I had to just delete all of them. Couldn't tell wether a username/email was spam or not. Hopefully we didn't loose too many potential members in the process.
The new system will check email and ip addresses against the stop forum spam database as they register. It is all behind the scenes so the registration experience will stay the same. There is also a small level of auto-moderation to detect spam posts for any bots that may get through.

I have implemented two anti-spam solutions into the forum which should automatically take care of spammers from now on. I apologize for not having this issue resolved as quickly as I would have liked, but thanks everybody for putting up with it!

NEWS FLASH! The newer 3 series is .... yup thats right.... as big or bigger than my car! Fyi
The N20 4 cylinder also has the same 0-60 time too! Yes F30's are big cars now, only because the F10 has gotten bigger too.

It's a car... drive it. Throw snows on it and it makes for a super fun car to drive in snow.
540's seen winter all it's life, snows make it amazing, and the DSC is very sweet, also much better when turned off... but I know you are talking e30
dsc in action
My Dad loved his 540i in the snow. Same goes for my E28's, BMW's in general kick ass in the winter. The E28 has been parked for the winter this year though as I'm gonna start ripping it apart for the rebuild. I just purchased a 1998 C2500 6.5l Turbo Diesel Suburban which will be my daily until the E28 is finished up in the spring.

What about getting a "human verification" thing..where you type the strange looking words from the image?...not really sure how you get those but every other forum I've ever signed up for has one. Seems to work well. Or even a simple question/answer deal, which may require less work. One of the DSM forums I was on back in the day (yeah, i know "ewwww dsms") simply had "What does DSM stand for?" as a security question during the registration process.
Captcha has already been turned on, I will also be installing some spam detection add-ons within the next day, not sure if I'll have to take down the forum yet. If I do, I'll get to it later tonight then.

If I were you, I'd ditch the spray cans. Having owned a car that was rattle canned, the paint didn't last 6 months with prep. Every time I went through the car wash, it would flake off. Take the time and do it somewhat decently even if you don't want a show quality job, especially if your father is an experienced painter. I think it would be better than having to keep respraying spots when they fall apart.
