  1. Bingo. Like I said, $500 is a lot for what you were given. Remember, logos do not last forever and sometimes have to be updated.

I would stay away from anything too specific. I know you're partial to BMWs, but I'd leave the emblem off, along with any other noticeable BMW silhouettes. Not only because you paint yourself into a corner, but because companies have those as registered trademarks. Ask me how I know.

If you want decent results, go to www.99designs.com. Designers from all over the world can build you a design according to your wants/needs. I think it's like $300 and you can choose the one(s) you like best. I'm not sure how it will stack up against what you've already been given, but I know there are some awesome designers on there if you can entice them to choose your project.

Thanks for the input. I think at this time we are going to go this route and see what is offered. For $500 I can get a logo and business card designed. I'm just frustrated at this point. I understand I didn't pay much for what I was offered but if I knew what I was going to get I wouldn't have don't it to begin with. I didn't approach him with the cost he told me what he charged. Eitherway I'm just going to pay up and be done with it.

  2. Auto werks is two separate words. Also as of right now we only do bmw so putting bmw specialist at the bottom is good for now. I do not want a bmw reference in the logo itself as once we get going we will be taking on Porsche as well. Then I can just either add porsche specialist to business cards then as well. In the end we will only be doing Porsche and BMW. Honestly to me I think all these designs are clip art and boring. Nothing screams eye catchy or something I haven't seen already. We are reconsidering the old saying "do it once, do it right" instead of just getting something together now and then redoing it later once we go full time with this.

  3. I would do 3 without the car or 6.  Most of those look like the design company wasn't even trying.

Considering for how much we are paying I'm ok with the designs. We went to a legit company and they wanted $2k to start up to $6k pending what was all done on the branding aspect of things. We are getting these for under $500. It's something we can use for shirts and business cards now and in 3 or so years when we do this full time we can get something a little more set in stone.

  4. If the customer is a goofball and doesnt mind coming in periodicly for a re-tune and linkage adjustment then ITBs could be lucrative, otherwise it could be a hassle to the customer to not have it running consistently due to the finnicky nature of Alpha-N tuning.

The money spent on ITBs could certainly go towards the higher CR pistons and larger cam that will be needed.

The Metric Mechanic pistons have valve reliefs that make the M20 a non-interference engine, even while increasing the compression ratio which would be a huge selling point if I were a customer.

Very true on the ITB's. I'm still weighing my options. He saw a s50 2002 online and wanted to do that but after looking it seems like there is so much fabrication involved when doing that which I can not offer. Boy I wish this was a e30 at least. I don't think it's worth sticking $6k into it for a 2.9L stoker and ported head for at most 190whp.

  5. I vote turbo! with that budget you could have an incredibly reliable setup, and even 300whp would be pretty insane in a 2002, and 300whp can be VERY reliable on an m20 on pump gas. very simple and at that power level nearly instant spool with the right parts.

Problem being there is no bolt on kits for the 2002 which would make things more difficult and since it's only 2 of us at the shop we don't have enough man power to do a full on custom build and still keep up with the other customer work since we only work weekends

  6. Having never nodded a m20 I don't know were to start. Intake, chip and all that crap I think is probably not worth the money. I know FI is a good option but does anyone make a bolt on kit? Anyways I have a customer me a very nice 2002 that has a m20 in it that they track with. She is wanting some more power out of it. She was thinking stoker kit. I wouldn't have an issue with FI but then reliability comes into play and I'd want something that she wouldn't have to worry about. Any input would be great. I heard spec e30 guys get quite a bit of hp out of there NA m20s.

  7. Well what's everyone think this is going to cost? Fully optioned m4 is $92k. So this is obviously going to be over 100k. I'm on the list at my dealer for a m2 but this could actually be an investment opportunity I think if it's not driven or such. I assume dealers will be charging over msrp for this. Wonder what options will be available...

  8. Get in line. It's going to be just like the 1m. Overpriced. I'm in line at my dealer and will be paying $5k over msrp. Other places are charging as much as $10 over. This will be limited just like the 1m was. So figured I'll get just about all my money back when selling it with 10k miles or less on it.

  9. What'd they do? I went down to IL for them as well.

We have had a few issues with them. From downpipe rattle due to not spacing the downpipes correctly to leaving a customer stranded because of their terrible walbro 255 fuel pump install. Also some other things but don't want to put it all out there.

  10. You're the same guy who blasted a shop on your own shops facebook page, shared it to other BMW facebook pages then wouldn't tell anyone who the shop was!

I told all my customers or people who asked who it was. Also this is wibimmers very small compared to the e90/m3 chicago fn groups. If you must know the shop was A-spec tuning. No secrets. But thanks for the concern.

  11. The

Not to get into the whole ordeal, but I have several times and I have them drive it and they tell me everything is okay. Also, it is a very reputable shop that most people know. I'm just having a hard time because I had them balance my tires and do an alignment after the install. I was told everything was okay, but I took it to another shop because like I said it didn't feel right and 3 of the 4 tires were out of balance and the alignment was very far off. So I'm just trying to find someone to maybe take my car for a drive and maybe take a look at it if possible because I have very little knowledge with suspensions.

Spill the beans! Otherwise everyone else will keep going to this said shop!
