  1. Sorry for the terrible gopro in gopro pic, I am not a picture taker so that was the best I could find.  Heres a new one, thanks to patsbimmer1 for the contours.

The engine is doing great. Its been almost 40k since then and it pulls strong and gets 27- 28mpg as my daily driver.  I doubt the boring made that much more power but it feels better now than before the rebuild.  Looking back I should have swapped to an s50 but didn't have much time or knowledge to do it then.

  2. Hey all,

Glad I found this site.  Had no idea there was a BMW site for our great state.  I have a 94 325i sedan.  I got it with a cracked head in '09 and ended up doing a full rebuild on the engine, with help from a buddy (who had also never torn an engine down) we did everything but the block machining.  That was done by gritzmacher racing engines, does great work BTW, south of mosinee.  (Lived in Wausau at the time)  Also put on Eibach pro system shocks and springs.  Since then every winter she gets something new while sleeping in the garage.  UUC stage 2 flywheel and m5 clutch, K&N CAI, UUC poly rtabs.  I just finished a rebuild on an m20 for a co-workers '90 e30 vert.  So if anyone in the area needs a hand I am familiar with e36's and some e30 stuff.  Here's a couple pics.

  3. I'm using this switch BMW# 61318361787  and just took out the mech fan.  It's 80/88 degree C instead of 91/99 C.  Only comes on low speed occasionally when idling for a long time in hot weather.  Easy and only need to buy the different switch.

Edit: I should clarify, mostly stock M50 with 88c thermostat.  Usually runs about 195 - 200 F on autometer gauge at factory sender location in head.  Never seen it above 210 even idling in very hot weather.
