Hey all,
I am currently in the process of replacing the water pump, valley cover, etc. on my M62 and decided that I would do the valve cover gaskets at the same time, since they were leaking a little bit. While I have the valve covers off of the engine I am cleaning them up and got the idea to have them powder coated.
I was just wondering if anyone in the area has done this and knows of a place to take them? Also, what were the costs of it?
Any other input is appreciated as well (pros and cons of painting vs. powder coat etc.).
Thanks!

Let me know if you need anything Chris!

I agree, it is kinda cheesy but I figured somebody on here might want to take a look. It definitely wouldn't be practical at all for me, and wouldn't look that great either, but I do like the look of a little carbon fiber sometimes...

For the few e39's on here, I know it ends in only 4 hours but its a great deal for a brand new Seibon carbon fiber hood:

I would get it myself if I had the money...

I have 2 10" MTX Audio subs in a single box with a 1200 watt Nitro amp. It adds just enough bass for my taste, without going overboard. Got them cheap from a friend, and wired them into my e36 along with a JVC head unit. It sounded pretty good but I wanted more midrange, as e36's arent great when it comes to that. Once I got my e39, I wired them into the stock head unit and they sound perfect. I have all of the range that I would like, and that little extra loudness when I feel like it. Now I just need to replace a couple of the stock speakers which have been blown slightly. Looking into Rainbow brand for those, just waiting for some money.

I would definitely be in for a 5er meet! Wouldn't be able to be in charge of it, but willing to help out Chris if he would need it.

Great to see more e39 drivers on here!

Valve Cover Powder Coating
in General Technical

Thanks guys, I took them to B&K Powder Coating. They quoted me $100 to strip and coat in black. They said they would be willing to try, even being magnesium. Hopefully I will get them back this week and give you an update on how it went.
