It's an Aluminum M5 control arm with the 750i bushing pressed in. It is a bigger and more rigid bushing. That connection on the e28 is what causes the dredded shimmies these cars get.
I have no clue what durometer .... this is the bushing though - http://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-series/product-details/Rear+Beam+Bush/725.html
-
I am very happy with the way it turned out ... cannot wait for paint .... I am starting to get stir crazy with this project.
-
OEM up front (750i control arm bushings) and poly for the rear subframe bushings.
-
Not going to make it with the e28 ... so bummed. Maybe I will steal my Uncle's IX and go with that...
-
I did almost every bushing on my car last year (skipped trailing arm bushings) and was very very happy with the end result.
-
That looks amazing ... really wish i could have done all that with mine but that was just more than I was willing to do. Great work !!
-
Some shadowlining, air dam is FINALLY permanently mounted. Going to leave it on for a week or so before paint..... and some port eye candy just because i can't get over how awesome that picture is ...
-
Keeping my pump so can't help you there but whatever high pressure lines you want, you can have. Low pressure lines are no good and I need the ends.
-
You stated something about power steering and brakes not working. I was assuming you may have had an issue with some of the Hydro system and wanted to let you know what I had .. not "trying" to sell you something but wanted you to know what I had .... just in case.
-
Brian ... I removed the Hydroboost from my car and have the hard lines, bomb and regulator ... The booster is shot though.

Yes, the TCM is part of what I purchased.
Imagineering (pistons and cam) works directly with Brody at Miller so the maps I get to start should be very very close ... Dyno tune will be to verify afr and timing is correct. i have talked with a few different sources on this process including people that have gone through it and it looks like it should be pretty painless.
-
24 lb injectors and i will be running a standard Bosch o2 sensor. I am going to have an extra o2 bung welded in the exhaust for a wideband on the Dyno but that is the only time I will use one.
Tuning will be completed with Miller WAR chip

Picked up the headers from the ceramic coater today ... will do pics later as I am going to leave them wrapped in the protective cover for the time being ... Miller stuff will arrive early next week.
Painted the mirrors, door handles and other misc trim last night .... Ohh Boy getting excited.
-
Tormenting is an understatement ... going to be spending a bunch of time on it now that the parts are here to try to get it done. I am now seeing the light at the end so it is getting exciting.
-
Ha ... I cannot wait to get this thing done ... i do enjoy the journey of working on the car but I just want TO DRIVE THE FREAKIN thing !!
Hoping engine assembly will start next week at some point ...
-
Progress is picking up ... The car is now polished and waxed, shadowlined and re-finished the spoiler rubber with Plati-Dip (we'll see how it holds up) ... also got a little sumthin in the mail last weekend
-
Love style 19 on e28
-
All came as a kit from a group buy ... just under 600 without coating .. still need to get the headers ceramic coated.
-
Been a while .. .work is being done but slowly ...
-

A group buy a guy did with the manufacturer of the old BavAuto headers
-
Just got an email that the headers are complete !!

Ya taped the surface and the edges all sloppy like ... I wasn't worried about a little overspray. Wire wheeled and dremeled the block and did 2 light coats and 2 heavier coats of paint ... went quicker that I expected.
My name is Earl, and I have a Stainless Steel bolt fetish =)

Yes ... but I did replace every part in the front along with those so it is probably a combination. These tend to last a lot longer than the oem e28 part.
