I'm a little late on this post but, a stock m20 with stock head gasket, ARP's, stock intake manifold, and hx35 12cm will easily give you 400+ whp (with a good tune)...
It's proven to handle 1 bar (350whp) all day long.
If you grenade it, no big deal.
Also, TB size doesn't really matter when FI. Most either o-ring or weld, m20's weak point is the head gasket pushing out into the coolant channel. Specifically cylinder #6 (hottest). Unless you plan on detonating, you wont get far.
GL with your new m50.

Ill be there in a week, I'll be in the southwest region...Kandahar. Sounds like a plan Dean, I will be sure to take you up on that offer when I come home.
Thanks!

Haha I guess so! I will eventually make my way down to a meet but it's going to be awhile. Mystere gotta be there...
-
Thank you!
Do you know if they work with Megasquirt/Tunerstudio? I'll do some research...
-
Thanks Ryan...
Mystere, have you been in a turbo m20 powered e30 yet??
Also, I have to ask, does ANYONE know of any reputable dyno tuners in WI? Should I start a new thread?

I suppose I will show you guys some more pictures.

^There is a meet on the 14th=) And welcome
Thanks,
I think I was reading something about that. I wish I could make it! Unfortunately for me, this next year (starting 09 APR) I will be out of town/state/country. I'm making my way over to Afghanistan...
But I have all intentions of coming to southern WI for a meet when I get back next year. Have some family in Hudson and some friends in Green Bay.

Welcome to the site!!!! How's the IX holding up?
I still wanna go for a ride in that turbo car too...
The ix has been very good to me, it now has roughly 168K miles. I think it had like 135K when you looked at it. AWD is awesome! I want to try making it down to a meet sometime and go to a dyno, you gotta come for a ride!
Does anyone know of a reputable dyno tuner anywhere in WI?

Not trying to thread jack OP I'm also not sure if it's against the rules to link another forum but here goes...
Here is just one instance. I know he isn't using the stock head gasket but he is using shitty MB head bolts AND stock internals...93 octane.
Stock motor w/ 208k miles.
head was rebuilt @ 185k (valve job minor port cleanup stock cam/springs)
Metrick Blue bolts and Cometic MLS
boosted for over 20k.
437whp/380ftlbs on 20psi

This thread has a couple turbocharged m20's (with dyno charts) slightly different setups. A lot of them have stock m20's pushing 400whp easily.

It's been done and proven...
Again OP, GL with your build.
