  1. What's wrong with an e46?

E46's are still to expensive. They are much nicer then the e36 but the sellers know that. I would try and get a 330i or 330ci 5 speed but they are really expensive. I would rather put the money into a nice e39 540i if I had it anyways.

    E34 tourings are awesome!

I want a e34 touring! They are so hard to find, especially a good one that's a 5 speed.

I say go for the e34.  I love my e36 but they are everywhere, not necessarily a bad thing, but especially if it's between those two cars the e34 looks nicer in my opinion.  Arctic gray on black is the way to go.  Somewhat depends on what you want to do with it, you are already aware that an e36 performance build will be cheaper, but for an all original car it's probably not much different.  Depends what your long term intentions are?

I was liking the e34 better too. I would want to do some performance mods to the engine if I got either car. There are many relatively simple mods you can do to a m52 to get the hp up to the 220 to 240 range which is really appealing but doing anything major, like a turbo build, would be equally as difficult on either car, but the e34 would probably be more expensive. Aftermarket, suspensions, lights and all that jazz is just so much easier to acquire for the e36 too. But a e34 with tasteful aftermarket mods looks soooo good, I'm to conflicted.

  2. Most of you don't know that I moved to South Carolina to go to school at The Citadel. To get myself home I'm looking to pick up a car down here since they are all rust free and most are decently priced. I just can't decide which way I want to go and was looking for some feedback to sway me one way or another. I've been looking into e36s and e34s more specifically 328is, 525i and a little into 540i. A touring e34 would be ideal but those are impossible to find it seems like but the e34s appeal to me because they seem to be more unique a not many people drive them in the communities or so it seems and have a great balance with classic BMW feel with modern touches. But e36s are cheap/easy to mod, easy to find everything, and all around are less expensive. Here are some potential candidates. Also manual is a must ;) .

    For the e34s!

Obviously I would lose the wheels, I don't know if they have the originals still. Hopefully would be able to get it for around $2000 if I could get it without the wheels.

    On the e36 side!

This guy put up a crap ad, I don't know anything about the car because he hasn't emailed me back yet but the pictures make it look clean. Hopefully would be able to drop the price to around $2000 too.

What do you all think? Would you prefer a e36 or a e34? General opinions? We can get a good convo going  .

  3. I'm sentimentally attached to it since its the car I learned to drive stick on and the car that made me fall in love with all things BMW.

Your not the only one who fell in love with that car! She took my stick driving virginity too.

I'm fixing up the 318is to have it worthy to be sold at a decent price. Great little car but isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I would like to find my perfect one, making it my own and then I would plan to keep it forever.

  4. For Christmas I would like

    1. An e39 528i, the 318is is a good car but more space is needed to fit all of the bitches in the back seat ;) and I love m52s with all of my heart<3. I would like something other then black but anything in good condition will do.

    2. Loads and loads of mod for that e39. Coilovers, window tint, halo/hid head lights, exhaust, dope wheels, cold air intake, 3.45 LSD, s52 cams, m50 header, black out grill and anything else that I can't think of right now.

    3. Road trip to Colorado and do some real skiing.

    4. Getting the NROTC scholarship that will pay for/build my future.

  5. I have a friend who has several m62 out of a couple 90's 740i one of which only has 17,000 miles on it! He uses the engines to pull parts for his 3 740's. I'm still trying to get him on the forums but he is probably your man for that v8.

  6. Because burnouts

    Sorry about the crappy lighting

  7. I have a friend who has a m62 V8 from an older 740i that only has 18,000 or something miles on it. I have a 318is with the tiny 2.0 I4. The length of the V8 shouldn't be a problem but how wide it is might. Do you guys think I could stuff it in there? I think it would be hilarious to have a 340is badge on the trunk

  8. I have a '95 318is, it has this idling problem where it revs up and down from 1000 to 2000 rpms. I heard that and new idle control vavle can do the trick. Do you guys know if this is true? and does anyone know if for e36's, if a idle control valve from a 328i is compatible with 318i? Also if anyone has a idle control valve for sale for a 318, please let me know:).

  9. This is just a little fantasy of mine. I have a basically done for 1981 633csi sitting in my garage, the title situation is so messed up that I probably will never be able to drive it legally and it needs a ton of work. It has 175,000 miles on it, doesn't run, and I have no idea why it isn't running but I haven't really put in the time. On the other side I have a 95' 318is, its has a shit paint job and the interior is decent besides the headliner but the engine is in good shape besides an idling problem. There is really no reason for me to do this besides that I want a big 6 in my tiny ass car :D. What do you guys think?
