Nice color

It was on black wheels, must be the same one. He from around here? e46 guys can be pretty big dicks, and that says a lot coming from a BMW owner.
I think they all moved on to E9X's now
-
He had the subframe welded and the valves adjusted after he bought it. Rod bearing recall was done under warranty in 2004 and it had a new rear diff put in, in 2007.
Good to hear! Just remember, valves get adjusted every 20,000 miles, or less depending on how "enthusiastic" you are with the car. Also don't forget the diff fluid, the diffs are very picky. Change every 32,000 with the crazy expensive OEM fluid $140 :eek:My diff was starting to make some scary noises until I did a flush (only 60,00 on my diff).
But again, if you really love these cars, there is nothing else out there that would be better to walk out to every day. Get the car and have a blast! I know I do
-
Just make sure the rest of the car is 100%, get a PPI done. An E46 M3 is one of the last cars you want to skimp out on, its not an E36 M3, which is really really easy to maintain. Mine is going in to have the cracked subframe fixed in a month $$$. I just had inspection 2 done, which is $1,200 on the cheap if you cant DIY ( a lot of people don't feel comfortable adjusting valve clearance on an 8,000 rpm motor). My alternator recently packed up, and at the end of the year the I will be replacing the rod bearings as well. I'm just saying you kind of really have to love these cars to put up with them. It like a girl on the hot / crazy scale. They are high maintenance and bitchy, but god are they great to drive the crap out of. Oh and this is also coming from a guy with an M3 that is currenlty deciding not to crank over
-
This guy does!
-
I've actually always wanted one, I saw 2 of them the last time I was in Germany, they look pretty cool in person
-
Well I guess that would essentially be the CSL box, six stacks with a filter right in front of them with a plenum surrounding it all.
-
Thanks! it's a lot of fun too! getting pulled over sucks though
Getting pulled over sucks no matter what!
-
FMU has done it, I just wonder what the drawbacks would be, if any. I could see that being a lot of really hot air going in the engine, where as right now my intake brings in just over ambient temps into the engine. With air being pulled in through scoops in the front grilles and piping coming from the air duct next to the driver side fog light.
-
Just go with ITB's. Screw intakes. ITB's with stockings rubberbanded over them for that old school race look.
I have ITB's
Or do mean stacks?? Because that would be awesome too, but even more money and work
-
^That's a sick looking bike!
-
The lights make it look like a MKII Scirocco
-
Go with the Megan parts and use the money saved to buy the CSL intake. That will give you more of the sounds you crave
Ohh the CSL intake! one of the best sounds out of a BMW ever! Its just a shame that you have to spend so much on the intake and then $1,000.00 on software
-
^ that's what I've been thinking, the only real concern was (and I know this is shallow) but I don't really want a Megan logo on it. Like I said it's shallow, but, the name just doesn't sound like it belongs on this car I'm sure I can get the tips re-polished to remove the logo though
Also, pics of said supermoto? ^

So I've been looking for a section 3 (axle back) exhaust for the E46, I honestly do love having a quiet car for once in my life, but I'm also so tired of when I push the car, I hear nothing... it goes like the dickens but makes no discernible noise. Its like being with a supermodel that when you're.... never mind I'm getting side tracked. Either way, I want some more sound out of it. And found that I like the sound of the Agency Power section 3, with some AR20 resonators welded in the section 1 to cut some of the rasp.
Problem 1.
Its $1,200.00 for the exhaust, I could take that money and buy the soon to come out Castro motorsport CSL intake
Problem 2.
I did some searching and found out that this exhaust has an identical twin ( I mean exactly the same product with a different logo)... and its twins name is Megan
Problem 3.
The Megan sells for a relatively piddly $450.00 and comes with the obvious curse of badged tips that say Meagan.
So the question is, whats really in a name? I suppose I could just have the tips re-polished to remove the logos like a boss?
Thanks for letting me think out loud and I will leave you with this:

Wow that thing is clean!

I'll have the E36 "forever" or until it dies an honorable track day death. The E46, I cant imagine why I'd ever want to get rid of it, so I'll probably have both of them for a long time yet.
-
They also have to quite with the S drive 3.5is advanced this and that blah blah bull crap. Too much naming nonsense going on with BMW lately.
-
I completely agree, it only seems logical to actually have the name/numbers actually mean something. That said, I am excited to see this in person
-
Love the way it looks, but cant believe that the 4 door will be a "3 series" and the 2 door with be a "4 series". Makes no sense to me that they would change the name like that
-
I thought that was your car there. I work at Bradley;) and beautiful m5. Welcome
My office is on the opposite side of the business park (over on Lilly) but our warehouse is basically just across the street from Bradley, you probably see me all the time
-
Very nice M5! I've seen it a few times in Menomonee Falls, I work in the business park across from EVS.

I usually make the trek from Milwaukee to Richfield, my dad has a much bigger garage than I do, plus I keep most of my tools there
