The 5er is on the street now with a fresh , tuned motor, euro body parts, suspension and more. Merl must be driving, not updating

I'd look at Dunlop Direzza's. A lot of grip for relatively low cost. I ran them on my E36 M3 (#175) yesterday, and they felt pretty good.

If the wheels are aluminum, you can take them to A-1 in New Holstein. They have the tools to clean them up and are pretty cheap.

I'm a newbie here but just old enough to remember Can Am and driving on the Nordschleife (sp?). I also recently went back to an E30 with a 1988 325iX that I'm semi-fixing for winter driving with a fresh and tweaked motor and a few tasteful treats.
