  1. Soooo... I don't know if it is the site, Adobe, my computer, or the internet, but I keep getting errors when I try to upload pics from BMW Welt.  I believe my profile is currently public so I'm going to try to just post a facebook link directly to the album.  Let me know if you tried it and it's not working. If need be I could put them on photobucket or flickr or something.

Well, it's like 12:30am here, so I am heading to bed.  Liebe Gruesse aus Deutschland!

  2. Those who requested something, i picked it up if it was available. everyone else, I'd like to post pics of BMW Welt, so i'll do that once i get computer access. for right now i'm mooching wifi off public places on my cell and my pics are on my camera. Posting soon!

  3. Hey, Bimmer Community!

I am leaving June 13th for Germany - just about a month away!  Once again, here is a link to the BMW museum store (I don't remember if anything that was there before no longer exists or if new products are available): http://www.bmw-museum-shop.de/

Last call for item requests!  I shall pick them up for you and send you a paypal invoice to me for payment upon my return.  I will do my best to find whatever you request in the physical store (I'm not sure if what is online varies from the store - this is why I will ask for payment after my return instead of before).

Should you be interested in the exact date, I will be there June 18th.  I'm not sure how available internet access will be as I will be with a host family or in a hotel which may or may not have wifi and I'm not sure how frequently I will be able to check last minute requests.  Please let me know sooner rather than later!

btw - the worth of the euro is still low at about $1.32!!!

Questions? Comments?  Message me or reply!

  4. Hey Bimmer community! Got holiday cash burning a hole in your Tasche? Maybe a birthday of your favorite Oma around the corner? Look nicht further!

I know I don't know a ton of people on here, and I'm not sure this would be taken with great enthusiasm or not, but I wanted to throw out a friendly offer and put my few bimmer talents to use!

As some of you may or may not know, I'm a high school German teacher in West Bend and will be travelling to Germany on a summerly basis for quite some time with our student exchange program. A new (and, as I will be taking over the planning from now on, regular) stop for our yearly escapades is the BMW Museum in Munich and, granted I will have limited carry-on space in my bags as I will be in Deutschland for 3 weeks, but I thought I'd make an offer anyhow:

If you know of anything you may desire from the BMW museum, I could gladly pick it up for you, bring it back to the states, and deliver or mail it to you for much cheaper than shipping from DE, depending on your distance. Here is the link to their shop for ideas: http://www.bmw-museum-shop.de/

Of course there could be fluctuation by the time summer comes around, but currently the Euro is down which is good news for shoppers. 1 Euro = $1.34. Last time I was in Deutschland it was 1 Euro to $1.63 at it's highest. It was only slightly lower than this a few months ago and that was it's rock bottom worth in recent years, so buy while the buying's good! If anyone is super interested, let me know so we can work something out!

  5. There should be another meet or something so I have something to wear this to. Blue is not part of my regular wardrobe.

And no offense to piku, but I am a one man kinda gal. Yes there's been a couple crazy nights... but nothing is quite like a man... and that's good.

  6. So far, the only ladies I know of on the forum are Piku and I, but if there are others (or guys if you wanna get your special someone a special something), I just wanted to share something I just bought on etsy.com.

    Adorable! :P

If anyone wanted one, the creator agreed to making more upon request. I believe it was $6.

Since I bought it, it won't exist on etsy for the time being, but feel free to request via the link on my wanelo account if you are interested.

    OMFG look at this=O http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/2637059793.html

And if you want a race car: http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/2666244615.html

All of those have questionable things in the description, have more miles than I'd prefer, or in the case of the third one is considerably out of my price range. :(

  8. lol, I don't think he'd be too disappointed, plus this isn't my absolute car. Just kinda something I came across and was feeling it. My mom always told me that if you're shopping and something catches your eye but you don't know if you should do it, ask yourself if you'll regret passing it by if you don't buy it. Same with cars I feel, if I find myself thinking about it some time after I saw it online, maybe it's something I should look into further. The longer I thought about it the better it sounded. Although now I'm a little bit put off by it since the problems people are saying to look for are pretty much the same things I'm facing/have faced with my Talon. Last fall my dad helped me replace the rear strut towers and shocks. I'm unhappy that it seems my front ones are also now due... putting that off a bit... oil is also leaking in my car at a frightening pace. It had been worse but I switched to a 10W 40 as opposed to the previous 5W 30. Before it had been smoking because some horrible leak is causing it to spray all over everything under my hood. Unfortunately, looking at bimmers, this seems to be still a common issue. I just wanna avoid that whole deal AND have the 5-speed bimmer of my dreams. lol. Dirte or not.

  9. Hey guys,

I need some advice. As some of you may have seen my post looking for a manual bimmer, I have a found a few options and was wondering if anyone familiar with these models could tell me what 90's models I should stay away from? what good motors were made in that decade? and any recommendations as far as what to look for.

I do have my eye specifically on a 1996 318ti and was wondering if anyone could give me some info regarding common problems for it so I kinda have a heads up on what to expect. Thanks!

(btw - looking to spend under $5,000, open to any recommendations.)
