  1. I just picked up a license for the Facebook app that vBulletin has. It will let you check WiBimmers while logged into your Facebook, as well as post from Facebook directly. It's pretty slick. I believe we can tie this Facebook group to it as well...

I have to poke around with it a little bit more, I'll let you all know when it is live.

  2. what are the reasonings??

so we can fix them...all the stickers have been made by me and rampy with our vinyl cutter...

^I assume it is for the reasoning of him owning the site and just wanting to see them:)

    That's the main reason.

The other reason is, I don't want crappy stickers with the site name on it. It makes us look crappy which in return puts people off and people don't join. If I saw a car rolling around with shitty stickers, I'd say no thanks... It's the same reason I went with a premium printer and I designed the business cards myself. I personally would (and have) tossed several cards due to shitty design.

It's a personal thing I suppose. I dont care what you put on your own cars, if you want to come out with your own stickers for you and your friends fine. But if we're going to an event and trying to get it some what official by perhaps a sponsorship, I'd like to have a little say in what we're handing out.

  3. This isn't even the largest ones I saw!

When the weather clears and I get a chance to look over the car I'll throw up some pictures of the damage, it's not nearly as bad as it could of been. I really lucked out.

Tomorrow I'll throw up a list of things to do and planned mods. This car is really in great shape. It'll look even better when I throw the weaves on, the current wheels are snow tires. The previous owner had them mounted but I don't think he ever drove it in the snow. The chassis is rust free, very clean!

Thanks for reading! I plan on updating this as she is modified and maintained!

  4. I have some very high expectations for this car though...

Good for you. I'll do this for me though, not to impress anyone else.

Copied from my thread on R3v:

Several of you may remember I have owned a E30 M3 for about 5 years. A US Spec M3 that I picked up in Germany while stationed there on active duty. That car was sold 04-25-2012, the for sale ad is visible here... The car was sold to anthusist, and an active BMWCCA member. I expect he will keep it in as good, if not better shape than I did. As for why I made this transition, I needed (need) to provide for my family and rather OWN a home than own a M3. It was the right financial decision, and do not reget doing it. That said, I turned down several interested parties due to their lack of knowledge and respect for the vehicle. One potential buyer was interested in turning it into a daily driver for their teenager...

Photo of said M3 for good measure.

So the M3 was sold on 04-25-2012, on 04-26-2012 I picked up a 1991 318is Brilliantrot on Silver cloth slicktop. The car only had 102,500 miles, very well maintained and clean. The previous owner is very active in Badger Bimmers (BMWCCA). The car was a little more than I wanted to pay, but I felt it was worth it. I won't go into too many details, but the car was listed here, I didn't pay asking price... The previous owner keeps texting asking for the car back (jokingly of course).

Overall the car is in great shape. It's a little dirty inside, but I had it shampooed and plan on a detail soon. The day after I purchased the vehicle I took it on a trip to St Louis (300 miles from where I live). Only hiccup "mechanically" with the car was a loose IS lip. I removed it as I didn't want to lose it on the highway. I averaged 30MPG which was awesome! My M3 was a little bit of a gas hog!

So fun times, then last night there was an insane thunderstorm accompanied with baseball sized hail. I was at a wedding reception and no safe place to park.... The car got hit about 4 times. I think pointless dent removal will work. Its not terrible, but four to five dents that wern't there a few days ago.

  5. Immediate plans are to address the few issues, which I'll list in a project thread....

Plans are for a OEM plus type build. Clean, lightly modified m42, mostly suspension work. Plan is to use it for auto-x and rock the gas sipping M42 for a while. There are long term ideas, but I'll leave it alone for a bit.

I have other priorities first though.... Obviously, as I sold the M3...

  6. Took it to St Louis today (and still there now...).

Averaged 30mpg, only "issue" was the iS front lip began to flap on one side. Popped it off and put it in the trunk.

It's a great car. I'll be posting a lot more soon.

As for the M3, it was sold to a enthusiast somewhere near Minneapolis, but in Wisconsin. He's a BMWCCA member, I may run into him again, but I doubt it. The previous owner of the 318is is local to Milwaukee and is active in Badger Bimmers, he's messaged me like 3 times jokingly (maybe?) asking for the 318is back!

Cool guys, it was a very pleasant experience. The BMWCCA community seems to be great. I plan on being much more active now!
