HipMF Posted January 15, 2020 Author Report Share Posted January 15, 2020 I don't know the word nerd terms, but I think the distinction is who's doing the work. If I use a plane, then I'm the planer, not the tool. If I stick a board in a machine and it does the planing for me, then it's the planer and I'm the planer operator.
