reckedhim
Can anyone recommend a good alignment shop in the Madison area? I've gone to two places - one couldn't do it because my tires were too low profile (I'm not running 22's with rubber bands) and the other couldn't do it because they don't have the weights. suspenceful
Low profile tires and wheel weights have nothing to do with alignments. Are you looking for someone to mount/balance tires? Or throw your car on a rack?
Earl
Ditto. I went to a Ford Dealer to get my car aligned and I guarantee your car isn't anything like mine lol. If they touched mine I see no reason why anyone would not do yours

Boris3
When I first tried years ago to get an alignment on the e30 at the regular chain places they begged off saying BMWs were too complicated...no clue that the only thing you can adjust on a stock e30 is front toe. If you're located east of Madison, and willing to drive to Okonomowoc the folks at Big Bear Tire or Lake Country Alignment do good work. andyhundley

I'll probably end up going there.
patsbimmer1
They had rim clamp style sensors and couldn't get the clamps between the tire and wheel. Hunter has tire clamp style sensors on their Hawkeye Elites that should work. ***NOT WHEEL WEIGHTS*** BMW calls for actual weight in the driver seat, pass seat, middle back seat and at least a half tank of gas to properly align the car unless the shop is using the proprietary BMW software that will take that into account when the car is compensated. Without doing that theres no guarantee your tires will wear evenly. I may be able to help you out otherwise take it to BMW or Big Bear in oconomowoc. patsbimmer1
Please trust me when I say that the alignnent on your e90 is way more complicated than on an e30.
HipMF
On a somewhat related note: one of my co-workers today asked me where he can get a front alignment done on a limo. Any ideas?
petemc53555
Accurate Alignment & Frame near Zimbrick Honda off Fish Hatchery does great work. He installed a shim kit I supplied to dial in some neg. camber for me. My e36 ti never handled better. Cash or check only though...
