B C
Small factoid: Toyota's use of "FT" as a prefix for concept car names is just a place-holder meaning "Future Toyota", such as the FT-86 which became the FR-S/GT-86/BRZ (for Lexus it is LF for Lexus Future) so while it may be known as the FT-1 for now, it will take on a new name closer to release. Perhaps "Supra". Regardless, about a year ago when I was reading on the FT-1, I believe it hinted at using the BMW S55 (M3/M4 I6-TT) but NOW I am reading that it will be using an N20/N26 (I4-T) Regardless, I dig it. Even though the N20/N26 is a 4cylinder, it sounds really good for a 4cylinder I like this car

B C
That is lovely=) So a joint venture between BMW and Toyota? Yep,Toyota is sharing hybrid system design knowledge with BMW and BMW is sharing chassis dynamics knowledge with Toyota.Toyota and Subaru have been collaborating for a few years and im still not sure what the focus of that has been... Subaru teaching Toyota how to attract LGBT customers and Toyota showing Subaru how to build a reliable engine? idk. patsbimmer1

YoungCR
N20/26's are great motors. The first gen's more or less sounded and rattled like diesels but they have improved. The Z4 was the only car that I drove with a factory sport exhaust and for a 4 banger it sounds great! These motors have a lot of grunt too, could beat a E39 540i in a drag.I've hoping the rumors are true about releasing a smaller Z series car, would be great to have a modern day Z3 as the current Z4's are way too expensive. Earl
^Like a new z1 (size wise)? That'd be slick
Brian.
a poochy motor (for todays "futuristic supra"), it's a good motor an all. But seriously. Toyota will need to match or go beyond their prior plant in the supra chassis. I hope they go the S55. If not something else.. IDK I'm just sayin'. B C
Im sure with the electric motor and spiced up turbo 4 it would be somewhere in the 400hp range. But i agree. I hope for more
