DrLeadFoot
Been out of storage for about a tank of gas. The battery had power but not enough to crank. A quick jump and on the road again! Need some new rear tires and to go back to stock RTABs. The polys are too noisy for me. We are using the wagon for wagon things and swapped the kiddos seats into the m3. A rear facing baby seat in a coupe is forced yoga. B C
Are the RTABs squeaky or is it just the harshness. You will be out of the car seat phase soon enough. Moving on to boosters is like a breath of fresh air
jc43089
If they squeak they aren't greased well or with the right grease. Once I greased mine properly they made no noise. I had UUC ones but I am sure they are all similar.
DrLeadFoot
Squeaks and thuds/rattling until they warm up and quiet down. The recurring maintenance to grease them is what I'm not excited about. Back to stock but will clock them correctly for the lowered suspension. jc43089
You probably said it earlier but what brand? I haven't had to re-grease mine in a couple years. Are you sure the rattling isn't something else? They should be tight enough that the poly stays tight in the trailing arm and the only movement is the sleeve turning in the poly. I have seen some other designs that have an insert with a spherical bearing which is smart because it isn't completely a 1 dimensional movement at that joint. DrLeadFoot
Oil and filter change. LM 10w60 & mann filter. Added some new pilot sports 4S in the rears mid summer. Put a lot of miles in this thing while the wagon was under the knife. Love this car!! B C and P_Roloff

DrLeadFoot
M3 time!! New cross drilled and slotted CSL front rotors, crossed drilled and slotted rear rotors, new front PFC pads, pulled poly RTABS and replaced with OEM BMW, alignment, avant radio installed and driver's side ignitor. B C
Wow, I had dismissed the Avant head unit figuring it was just another android auto type touchscreen radio, all of which are neat but not a huge advantage over a phone and an aux input cable. Seeing how that has the OBC built in is really cool! The stock nav system/radio feels like something out of a prototype car. Half of the buttons don’t do anything, and whatever functionality remains is pretty limited. DrLeadFoot

YoungCR
I've been very interested in those head units for cars I don't have 🙄 seems like a great way to modernize the car while appearing stock. What was your complaint with the poly Rtabs?
patsbimmer1
Android auto and Apple Carplay are worth it. I'm tempted to update my HU in the M3 just to have that. It's so nice to have in my truck!

DrLeadFoot
Chasing a rough idle so I got my injectors flowed and cleaned. They are flowing great and I threw in some new filter baskets while I had them out. Didn't solve the problem. Next up is cleaning the ICV & throttle bodies. Installed some 2006 M6 heated front seats. Need to wire up the new-to-me heated seat buttons and then I'm golden! The M3 will see some winter duty while the wagon is under the knife 💯😲 patsbimmer1 and pynacl

DrLeadFoot
So rough idle was due to a bad serpentine belt. A new belt, fan and fan clutch later I was back on the road! Mike installed new control arms, poly lollipops, new inner & outer tierods, power steering line, new steering wheel, wired up heated seats, new head light adjuster & mount and getting an alignment tomorrow.
