So, Jake (StewCrew) and I got to thinking.

I dont have ebrake cables in my car.

So instead of replacing them, we figured....why not put a hydro in?

After some deliberation. I ordered an ASD hydro 5/8 pass through set up.

The pass through setup allows using the existing lines in the car (dont have to run another reservoir or a dual caliper setup)

So we met up on a Thursday and he made some magic happen while I made sure the car didnt start on fire.

First we outlined the bottom of the hydro to cut a plate to that size.

here is Jake doing that. (fire extinguisher for false sense of security)

The plate bolted directly to the bottom of the hydro...

Then we sort of guessed the size of a second plate to cut.

It was completely random and it worked.

Then jake used his welding skills to weld the two plates in a 45 degree angle

he then tacked the two washers onto the bracket as well...

(This is the top)

and bottom (sorry about the funky angles)

so all bolted up to the hydro...this is how it looks

and another angle

So the carpet was already cut up from the manual swap many moons ago, so i didnt feel bad about making more "surgical" incisions

Just got enough peeled back so Jake could sand the paint off and make some welds

While he was doing his thing I cut up the console to make some room

I am going to wire the window kill switch thing together so i can loose that switch and will probably end up relocation the passenger window button to the drivers side.

I dont really have any pictures of the "install" but it went something like this.

So after playing smokey the bear when jake was welding everything up...this is what we were left with. (I also had to cut the ebrake console up - it will need to get cut up some more once the lines are routed so please ignore the hack job)

Needless to say I am very excited to get the lines ran and everything buttoned up!!

I want to eventually make some sort of "dust boot" or shift boot type thing to sort of block off the now exposed area where i had to cut up the console

There is the perfect amount of room to get into 5th without destroying your knuckles and it is very easy to pull (not a funky angle)

Jake picked up all the hardware we need to eventually run the lines (except for the ever elusive 7/16-20 that no one carries) so it's just a matter of finding time to get this thing finished!

All set on the spares too :D (4 wheels&tires will be made into clouds)

Does it work well? Plenty of drift lubricant outside.

When does the turbo build start

It does work pretty well.

And yes there is a lot of rain out there.

But I also don't want to wad my car up in downtown Milwaukee haha

Turbo build? I just plan on living vicariously through all of the turbo builds on here.

now its everyone else's turn for burnouts/donuts this was done on a closed country road in the middle of nowhere (on tires + wheels that aren't mine) https://vimeo.com/99444032

All we have is a turbo oil feed fitting, and then I shall challenge you to a burnout :) Hopefully today or tomorrow!

The car starts first crank though. which is great.
