Not a BMW but another BaT car that had the high bidder bail.  It's interesting to read his comments about the lack of support from Bat.

I'd think a simple deposit system would help a ton for flakey buyers. Especially if it's non refundable if the car is as described.

Wish I could say I was surprised, but I have heard a lot of bad things about BAT and the buyers that flake out. Im willing to bet 80% of the cars listed dont sell.

Anyways, that guy started a site called "Backlash" using the BaT logo and seems a little dissappointed about the ordeal.

Not a bad deal at all. You can also find those on eBay BNIB for $1000 shipped.

Why would you say 80% of cars don't sell?  A high bidders credit card is charged for the buyers premium at the close of auction and is non refundable so it costs quite a bit of money to flake out.  In the case of a high bidder going to look at a car and then bailing out the only reason I can see that would happen is if the car has problems and is not as described and it would be cheaper to lose the buyers premium and walk away.

I will say that I was disappointed that they trimmed my description down and turned it into "BAT style" which caused a lot of information to be only in the comments and people may or may not scroll through all of the comments so there are tons of repeated questions about stuff that should have been in the description.  My buyer showed up with cash, was pleased and drove away so I was happy.

Sorry, I guess that was a biased comment as I have never sold anything on there and have seen A LOT of buyers walk away.

You are right, there are ups and downs to the listings on there, and its unfortunate that BaT is a subpar host for its users, both buying and selling from what I have seen.

Yes, they know problems happen and they seem to ignore them.  They should have a process after a failed sale to contact the next bidder because usually the second highest bid is not far behind.  Or some process to refund the listing fee or relist for free.  Although a relist sometimes doesn't do as well as the original.  I also thought that it was not good that they listed another V70R when mine was halfway through, they say it takes a few days to go live so let the one finish and then list the other or list them side by side.  Although it was a barely maintained one that needed work but "my mechanic says I don't need to do anything" so it was a nice contrast to mine, and mine ended first and sold for significantly more than it did even though it had 80k less miles.

Looks good except for maybe some funky panel alignment with the hood and fenders. If it checked out as straight from a shop, this could be a pretty decent one. It certainly has a good color combo, and sounds like it's been maintained.

Higher mileage, but well maintained. I really wish he'd left it calypso though.

If anyone cares to make a bad decision on a 740i M-Sport.

Or a slightly less bad decision on one in a cool color. LOVE how it looks when the light hits it.

There's two other 740 sports for sale in the Chicago area as well, so no lack of options with those haha.

18" style 32's

Cheap set of 3 CSL wheels, good candidates for a wheel table project?
