I would buy this if I had the cash

https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/cto/d/e30-bmw-325is/6654761254.html

Little rust, but seems like a good price

I'm definitely gonna be picking up an unnecessary sub $2000 E30

I'm happy to be at a point in my life where I'm not the slightest bit tempted by any of those.

Maybe if i was looking for a rallycross/lemons/etc. but $2k is too much for something I intend to destroy. As a project car, you'd have to be pretty ambitious to touch any of those, as they all need pretty much everything. E30 price inflation is obviously affecting all ends of the price spectrum. I'd say the realistic value of any of those cars is $600-800.

Curmudgeony old-man rant over.

Edit: I lied. The rant isn't over. I'm bored, so I'll break it down for you.

Red early-model 325: Polished turd. Overspray on oil-cooler and black-over-rust on the lower body. Seat covers can't hide the carpet stains, and if the back seat in a 2-door car is that gross, you can bet the rest of the interior is pretty bad as well. Auto.

Beigey-beige late-model 325: Has been resprayed. Major rust bubbling up under the paint is also happening in 10 other places that aren't pictured. Rust bucket. Auto.

Early 318: possibly the best out of the bunch. Pics are bad, so it's hard to tell, but it doesn't appear to have been "cleaned up" to look nice. Interior is likely shit. Maintenance is probably 10 years behind schedule, and the engine is junk (because it's an M10). At least it's a manual and the shell is possibly workable.

the guy with the kashmir one in Homer Glen is a d-bag. the car is probably far worse than he's suggesting.

This. I saw another e30 with issues that an unsuspecting buyer had purchased from Homer Glen and brought to MKE. A heads up to be cautious when dealing with a Homer Glen CL listing.
