Bleh.  Carbon black AND an RK SC kit.  Boo.  They should be taking bids for how much the seller would have to pay for a new buyer to take it off their hands.

This M5 only came in black but has no SC kit. Not sure about the price given the mods, but it could be a nice driver.

My inner old man wouldn't mind getting back into a fine executive automobile such as this. Sadly, the same inner old man thinks the price should be $1000 lower.

Not to derail the thread but for my own knowledge what's wrong with the RK kit and what's superior to it?

The RK kit is a crappy copy of some other older kits.  That doesn't make it inherently bad (as there are only so many ways to SC an S62), but the owner is a giant D-bag and isn't interested in supporting the project or fully developing it.  The oil cooler for instance shown in the ad.  We all told him it was a crappy core and a poor place for mounting and his junction block was shitty and mounted in a bad spot, yet he went to market with it anyway.  It might be perfectly fine, but it probably isn't.

There are few other kits out there, mostly from larger companies that claim less hp increase, but are more accurate and better tuned.

Fact is, with the e39 M5 being such a tiny market car, no one has really put the time and effort into tuning one properly.  The car was NA from the factory, therefore the ECU simply does not have the correct parameters to be tuned with positive displacement.  What they do, is take out all the sensor inputs and create a fuel table with math, throttle position, RPM etc.  Since the SC turns at a specific speed given RPM, the intake air pressure can be calculated.  Sadly, this doesn't take into consideration, air temp, intake air temp, ambient pressure, driving load etc etc.

I could go on with this subject but.....you are probably bored by now, lol.

That's actually really interesting, thanks for elaborating!

That Cappucino was bought by my friend and I drove him to get the car. It's an amazingly fun vehicle. We have been bombing around the backroads in it for the past couple weeks.

I love how everyone loves to whip out the term "M-Sport" when selling their e39. When they only came for 2003.

I'm no expert but that may actually be an X5 4.6is which would make it a pre-X5 M M car.  I have this odd love for the e53 4.6 and 4.8 IS SUV's.  It's the right color and the ad says 4.6L which the standard X5 was a 4.4 V8.
