  1. It’s stripped of good stuff and loaded up for scrap. If anyone wants any wire connectors or other bits let me know asap. Probably hauling it away mid morning tomorrow. I did pull the head just to see and yea it was a mess of bent valvesIMG_1389.thumb.jpeg.710c05e6e7d58934318205e1b5a0ba04.jpegIMG_1374.thumb.jpeg.51092eca44acc6fa72e69d93bbabbf78.jpeg

  2. Long time no post!  Zero to update! It's been sitting in my garage with a replacement engine and transmission right next to it.  I'm just never going to get around to putting it together.  It has a lot of replaced and nice parts.  Read through the thread for all of it.  It has some rust and will never be a show car but isn't really that bad.  It has so many replaced and nice parts, my intention was always to just use all of the parts on my arctic grey sedan someday.

    Eibach suspension that works good.

    Solid mounted rear subframe.

The whole rear suspension is gone through, adjustable lower control arms, M out ball joints top for outer top and bottom.  3.15 LSD (I think this was factory, in 93 the cold weather package came with heated seats and LSD and no traction control because it wasn't ready yet).

    Custom exhaust sounds really good.

The engine in the car has a broken timing chain, replacement engine appears to be working, it came from somebody doing a swap.  I can't guarantee it works though.  The engine in the car has Stewart water pump, Dinan TB, new coolant hoses, newer starter, Dinan ecu chip, and some other stuff.

Comes with a replacement Getrag transmission from the same place as the engine.

    Xbrace

Anyone interested?  It's taking up too much garage space and causing marital strife...  Make me an offer.

I bought a truck to replace my work van that is falling apart/also too small.

2020 Ranger XLT with 6k miles.  I was actually going to order a new XL very basic options but when I went in after selecting options with the salesman it rejected the order because they are apparently out of engines for 2023.  So I started searching used and found this one locally.  Complete with old man appearance package, chrome, running boards, etc.

Replacing the old Sienna.  It served me well starting my electrical contractor business.  But now it's rusted so bad the receiver hitch was falling off, the sliding doors don't open without the perfect touch, and it's very tight fitting everything in it.  Major pluses are that 10' conduit fit down the middle.  280k miles on it and it still runs great.  My parents bought it when it was a few years old with 60k on it so it's been in the family a long time.

    Sorry I am a disappointment 😭

  3. I'm working as an electrical contractor now and supplies are a big issue.  Simple stuff like breaker panels, meter pedestals, breakers, etc.  And if you can get it the prices have gone up by 50% just this year on many things.  Construction is really busy right now so it is probably due to both supply issues and increased demand.

@jc43089 would a needle gun be gentle enough to chip the existing paint off the seam sealer but not smash it like play dough? Even then I'd recommend that tool for most of the paint/rust removal as well. It's great for any scaly rust areas and harbor freight has 2 sizes available.

Not sure, I would guess poor results but maybe it would work.

  5. Seam sealer will not sand.  it It is soft and turns to melted shreds and smears if you use a wire wheel on it too.  It's very difficult to remove.  It's about like working with the undercoating.  After my experience messing with it I would recommend leaving it alone lol.

The last job I was on satisfied the inner child in me watching cool trailers and big rolling cranes do their job.
Lifted a new section of machine (100,000 lbs) into a mill using a 350 ton crane, then skated it into the building and picked it with the 50 ton house crane.
I was playing erection supervisor / mechanical advisor for this job which is a little different than what I am used to considering this was a full tear out and replacement of the old section of machine, but it was a solid project overall.

    That's what she said.

    In what capacity?
I have verified that the pump is still a pump, which is always nice!

Check the side clearance and inspect for anything that would cause lower output flow.  Also check the relief valve spring, I doubt that is the issue though because typical idling pressure is very low anyway.  Did you have an oil pressure gauge?

It verks! Back to ticking away the miles. The check light in the cluster along with the ABS light both work now too, which is cool. Only took a decade 🙄.

Put a little over a hundred miles on it today while heading up to Devil’s lake to hike, did about 10 miles there in a little over four hours. It was an absolutely perfect day for it too.

In other news, my brother picked up a 1970 Honda CL100 for $20 last year, and has been getting it running and back into streetable shape when he has the time for it. Tonight he got around to pulling the piston and cylinder, and figured out what the source of his oil consumption was. This is the compression ring, and he said it was all still in there thankfully. Bore isn’t scored either, I’m amazing it ran as well as it did like this.

It converted itself to 2 stroke!  Keeps the skeeters away.
