CF trumpets are on and motor is bolted back up to the car. Partee Racing made the trumpets.

Slowly progressing towards a Daytona Prototype motor 😂 this is awesome!
I bit the bullet and had Partee Racing do the bottom end as well. Shipped the heads back to Partee Racing for them to assemble the motor. High compression pistons, Arrow rods, all new everything. Almost ready to throw it into the wagon!

It has been awhile since I gave an update. Lots has been happening! Popped on an Active Autowerks supercharger, 4.10 gears with a drexler LSD, CSL King Pins and new bearings, CSL steering rack and all new power steering lines and reservoir, replaced the cam bolts and did a valve adjustment (2 were out of spec), valve cover gasket, manual swap with a JB Racing lightweight flywheel and HD Sach clutch, ZHP shift knob and a short shifter, and turned 200k miles on the car (motor probably has 130k-ish on it), and some 18" Apex wheels wrapped in PS4s 245 front, 275 rears.

The car still pulls to the right a bit. We'll replace the calipers next and take it from there. Really need to be able to text and drive with work and with this pull, it isn't ideal. Tires might be to blame too.
Cooling, 3rd pedal, clutch/flywheel, 4.10 wavetrac and boost bits incoming! Stay tuned!

In a world of annoyingly gaudy steering wheel modifications you have done a proper steering wheel.
For this I thank you!
It looks quite nice!
Did you have to send yours in and be without car for a month or two? Thanks! Lol
I have a couple of m-sport steering wheels so I had a back up. With that being said, anyone looking for a wheel? Lol. I have 3, 1 smg, 2 e39/e46 manual wheels

So rough idle was due to a bad serpentine belt. A new belt, fan and fan clutch later I was back on the road!
Mike installed new control arms, poly lollipops, new inner & outer tierods, power steering line, new steering wheel, wired up heated seats, new head light adjuster & mount and getting an alignment tomorrow.

Chasing a rough idle so I got my injectors flowed and cleaned. They are flowing great and I threw in some new filter baskets while I had them out. Didn't solve the problem. Next up is cleaning the ICV & throttle bodies.
Installed some 2006 M6 heated front seats. Need to wire up the new-to-me heated seat buttons and then I'm golden! The M3 will see some winter duty while the wagon is under the knife 💯😲

Had BMW Milwaukee North Body Shop install and paint new oem BMW rear glass and rear hatch. Also, added a carbon fiber spoiler.
Popped on some Pilot Sport 4S but ordered 255 rears instead of 275. Well, popped a rear tire on Mother's day with the family so I fortunately got to get the 275 rears mounted! The Mobile Tire Pit Crew is the JAM! They come to your house and mount and balance on their truck. Worth every penny!
Wagon is running great! Pumping gas weekly, topping off oil biweekly and smiling daily 😄

145amp truck alternator going in!
2 weeks ago I finally popped in the Drives Shaft Shop Level 5 700hp Axles. They are not direct bolt in for this '89 325is. Had to remove the ABS ring and grind down a manufacturing "bump" on the inside of the hub for them to fit. This involves mounting, removing the axle and grinding 10-ish times to get the clearance right. The output shafts are SUPER beefy. Out of a 930 Porsche I think?
Cut off some more fenders to try and stop the tires rubbing. I think it worked 💪

Maintenance!!!!!
Slow leak in the coolant reservoir, front diff whining on decel, clunk in front suspension all addressed along with some other items!
Grabbed a used diff and Mike added new input and output seals. New o-rings on the trans cooler. New serpentine belt. New locking/hazard button. New swaybar links. "New" suede steering wheel with white label airbag. New Phillips 4300k xenon blubs.

Killer updates as usual. Any steps to take to keep the new tailgate from rusting or is it just a given eventually?
Thanks! I think just keep it clean and keep the drain holes clear. We'll see how long it lasts!

Got the wagon back from Mike's place. He did a ton of work. A lot of new suspension arms with monoballs added where I could. Also some e60 M5 bits! New battery, clutch slave cylinder, antenna, washer fluid funnel, fog light and properly coded in the abs module.
I drove up to St. Paul to trade my tailgate +cash for a rust free 525i tailgate with the same color. Mike fixed some of the wiring that was breaking apart.
A new roundel for the tailgate and a Dinan strut bar top off this round!
Feels like a whole new car! Loving it!
Just have a exhaust leak from a hole in the new headers and an O2 sensor fault. Almost getting to mechanical perfection!

Evolve Medusa headers installed! Mike and I had to drop the engine to get the stock manifolds out and the new headers in. Rawspeed welded up a new Y-pipe and 2 high flow cats to bring the new into the rest of the custom exhaust. Was running 1 high flow cat but that was choking the system at the old Y pipe.
It is a whole new car! Really feeling the added POWA!

I've been very interested in those head units for cars I don't have 🙄 seems like a great way to modernize the car while appearing stock.
What was your complaint with the poly Rtabs?
They were just too loud. I'm going to stock shock mounts as well. Thing sounds like it is rattling loose when it is super cold out.
