GunMetalGrey got a reaction from m42b32 in 2011 328i Longroof - The Saga Continues
I don't know if you've experienced these in person, but it is truly amazing.
I was in an Audi Q8 with some guys in Switzerland and I couldn't believe how well it cut the light out around street signs and cars.
It was the best random thing to slip into the COVID legislation.

That was a bargain for sure, even if you write the chassis off.

I seem to recall having seen one of these motors in the past... just can't seem to remember where...

I greatly appreciate your posts in here so I can follow your advice later!
My 2-3 shifts are quite hard especially cold, and know the trans is in need of some love.
Keep crushing it!

A friendly reminder that your bike is taller than awnings
Found that out the hard way once haha
Now you can shred trails with the rest of the WiBimmers crew!

I'm glad to see you keeping with the black piping and clamps! Subtle, but a touch of class!
Watch that IAT for heat soak as it can do some weird stuff. I had it up so far toward the intercooler so the headlight cover plate would block off engine bay heat from the sensor as much as possible.
Excellent documentation as always!

A man after my heart with those wheels!
I love that you still own this thing, I remember bombing around in Fon Du Lac in it when we met to transfer ownership of some parts. It's come a long way since then!

I did not get the cat, but doing it again I may. It's not bad but I like cruising with the windows open and spend time crawling around so I feel the smell may become a tad much. I may end up trying to get a catted one.
Sound is pleasant, lots of turbo noise and a tiny bit of engine with the windows open. With windows closed I can't tell a difference from stock which is nice.
I did the EGR racepipe at the same time (Bimmertune) and that came with the coolant blockoffs for that, and picked up the plate you linked above from a different source.
The turbo noises and power gains are very fun.

I did the delete on mine recently and am very pleased with how it turned out.
I would like to note that I would rather do rod bearings on the M3 again before doing another X5d delete... It was a lot of patience and odd body positioning.
I went with the VSRF down / midpipe and the fit-up was pretty decent. I saw you had the buzzken one in there which is over twice the cost.

It's things like painting the edge of the oil cooler to maintain visual symmetry that I love.
Looking good!

I am both amused and amazed at the 2x4 crank holder
Bravo sir
I am impressed it held up to that (once)
Engine bay is looking quite clean! I look forward to seeing videos of non lifter tick auto-x runs!

I have to you snagged that one after it had been floating around for a bit on FB. I'm glad someone I know snapped it up as I was contemplating it myself, twin screws satisfy most of my desires when it comes to power additions.
I'm looking forward to seeing more about it!

Fixed the offroad issue with some 18's and 31" all terrains (Falken Rubitrek)
I dig the look, and will enjoy it even more once I get the 20mm spacers in the rear!
I've got a bit of clearance work to be doing, but nothing major!
