I've just discovered that the welds holding the forward mounting bracket for the battery tray on my new-to-me 98m3 convertible are all broken off. For who knows how many miles the tray has been only supported in the rear and the forward bracket has worn a hole through the floor of the body pan - inch wide, quarter inch deep. No rust whatsoever, but still a problem.
Anyone have a recommendation on a place in Madison (or a mobile welder) that could tackle this? This is a non visible interior weld job, but I'd like it done right. I have fears of the bracket being mounted at the wrong angle and the tray not being able to be reinstalled. Also, because of the location - trunk well, semi close to fuel filler neck, large battery cables, rubberized undercoating in fenderwell - it seems that someone with some subtle skill may be required.
