I decided to join to let you know there are things going on in the Midwest of the "BMW" variety.

I bought a 1996 328i in May with the intent to turbo it... Which has been done now, I'm kind of regretting not posting my journey on here now but it is basically done.

I'll post updates with pics and vids to get some creative juices going.

if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Looks good!  More pics!  What are the specs on the build?  Dyno graph?

It has a to4e turbo in it right now I have a gt35 on stand by but I'm satisfied for now.

arp head studs, Mls .140 headgasket

M50 intake manifold, dinan throttle body

two piece v band exhaust

whatever wheels came with it.

everything else is stock down to the radio

where are you going to put those gauges?

I like them up top because they are easy to see, but most likely I will be cutting out the sunglass holder move the obc down and move the radio where the obc used to be and put the gauges where the radio use to be. If that makes sense.

Stock maf which is good up to 400 hp.

With the software I'm using you have to pull all the info off the ecu.

If there is a better way please guide me to the land of 1000hp lol

Its obdII and as far as I know rk tunes is the only people who will tune it, at a price of 1500 dollars. Which is a rip off, I'd rather put my money elsewhere.

This is just something fun to drive around town.

Well the HPX maf would be my next switch, along with e85. Tune it yourself! its a lot of fun. But I swear I read online about partial flashes with obd2. You are using romraider correct?

Odb1 tuning is very easy and much cheaper, but in your boat I would go MS3 if you aren't happy with the stock ecu. SOOO much easier.

  • 4 weeks later...

Changed some things up on the car.

Had it dynoed at late model throttle.

It was with a spare ecu with no revisions stock injectors and fmu :o

The numbers were right where I hoped they would be.

It was 4th gear pull at 8 psi, the second run was right after so it was pretty hot.

sorry I didn't save the semen sample to put on the sheet :(
